Then why 6 Days do it 7 days or 24*7

[Dinesh Unnikrishnan @Dinesh_Unni]

Alternative proposals likely to be discussed to implement 5-days banking in today's meeting. One of them is 5-day work for each employee(skipping one of the days of the week) but bank remains open all 6 days. Anyways, this issue of 5-days banking entering the final stage. #5daysbanking

An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.

#5DayWeekandFairPLI

The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.

At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.

Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.

Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.

We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.

India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.

The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.

At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.

Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.

A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.

Shri @raghav_chadha sir your statements in Parliament against bank employees and on banking sector are completely baseless, misleading, and impractical. Bank employees have always worked with dedication, ensuring the smooth functioning of the financial system and implementing government policies effectively.

Instead of blaming employees, the focus should be on strengthening the banking system with better policies, adequate staffing, protection to bank employees, infrastructure and fair working conditions. Such irresponsible statements demoralize lakhs of hardworking bank employees who serve the public despite numerous challenges.

We strongly oppose these false allegations and demand a fair and factual discussion on banking issues.@FinMinIndia @DFS_India @nsitharamanoffc @ChVenkatachalam @UFBUIndia @nsitharaman
