Forests are nature’s hospitals. Quietly filtering our air, cooling our planet, protecting biodiversity & restoring our mental well-being.
Every tree lost is a step away from a healthier future; every tree protected is an investment in humanity.
Let’s invest in restoration.
My Heroes!
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Environmentalism is not a liberal agenda. It’s a survival agenda. Heroes are those who defend the agenda.
For the environment to be green, someone must be brave enough to defend it.
Zoka Forest is Uganda’s last big tropical rainforest in West Nile. It stores carbon, makes rain & holds wild coffee genes that can save Uganda’s $800M coffee industry from climate change.
With all the above richness, this is the current destruction in Zoka Forest.
What a Pity.
Zoka Forest! Sits in the Guineo-Congolian/Sudano-Zambesian transition zone, it’s one of Uganda’s richest zones for tree diversity.
Zoka has over 100+ tree species including wild coffee genes & hardwoods that took years to grow. Lose Zoka, lose species we haven’t even named yet.
In Adjumani district, locals are trying hard to plant trees to change the narrative of lost canopies.
But the nature criminals are also not relenting in finishing the trees in Zoka forest.
When will this chain of criminality be broken?
@FriendsofZoka@AmanzWillieONE @NFAUG
Zoka Forest is more than just trees it’s our natural medicinal, religious cultural & livelihood sanctuaries that nurture our physical & mental well-being. By protecting Zoka, we protect humanity, biodiversity & the health of future generations.

You cut one tree!
but they lose an entire world.
For us, a tree may look like wood.
For birds, it is a nest.
For monkeys, insects it is shelter & food.
For countless animals, it is home.
Deforestation is not just about losing greenery.
It is about making innocent lives homeless.
Forest crime goes beyond illegal logging.
It is often linked to corruption, fraud & cross-border criminal networks.
UNODC supports countries in tracing illicit timber revenues, dismantling criminal networks & strengthening investigations & prosecutions.
Denmark was pleased to meet with the Harvesting Carbon Project Consortium. Funded by #DanidaGBP, the project advances climate-smart agriculture in 🇺🇬 by transforming coffee farms into agroforestry systems—capturing carbon, protecting crops & boosting incomes! 🌳📈
Forests filled with life are being destroyed for corporate profits. Animals lose their homes, rivers are polluted, the climate grows hotter & a small groups get richer.
We are turning our ecosystems into eco disasters.
We are destroying what keeps us alive & calling it progress.
Zoka Central Forest Reserve is the last high-canopy forest in West Nile.
It is not just trees. It is our rain, our rivers, our medicine, our coffee, our climate shield.
Look! Today, illegal logging, charcoal burning & encroachment are silencing ZOKA FOREST.
This is very SAD!
AFFORESTATION: PLANTING THE FUTURE, ONE TREE AT A TIME
Afforestation, more than planting trees it’s restoring hope 4 our planet. Every tree planted helps absorb carbon dioxide, produce oxygen, improve air quality, protect wildlife, conserve water, & mitigates climate change.
Welcome back @ntvuganda@DailyMonitor and all the @NationMediaGrp outlets in Uganda. We hope that you will maintain the editorial independence, sharp moralism that has define your brand for years and endeared it to many of us. @SueNsibirwa, keep up the good work.
Zoka Central Forest Reserve stores healing knowledge & plants that communities have depended on for generations. Just as we stores wealth for future use.
Zoka CFR is not just a forest. It is our ancestral pharmacy, our health insurance & the bank where nature keeps our medicine.
