@BBMPofficial @ICCCBengaluru@BBMPCOMM@BbmpchdTeam@BengaluruAgenda - There is a big stretch of Garbage which has been there for many months and is spreading to the roads. What is the plan to clear this message which is a health & safety issue. Location -https://t.co/Z0I8mMyCtX
Manya @krishnabgowda avare
This is exactly what is wrong with road maintenance in Bengaluru.
A citizen reports a problem. A contractor is sent. A patch is laid. A photo is posted. Everyone moves on.
This patch is uneven, poorly finished and unlikely to last. If this is the benchmark being proudly shared by the Bengaluru South City Corporation, we have a much bigger problem than potholes.
Bengalurians need permanent solution not patch work
Electronic City is living proof that Bengaluru doesn’t have a money problem. It has an execution problem.
Requesting @TVMohandasPai and @kiranshaw to personally take Bengaluru Development Minister @krishnabgowda on an early morning drive and walk through @ELCITA_IN’s jurisdiction.
Not at 11 AM.
Come at 6 AM.
Walk the streets before the city wakes up.
Here’s what you’ll see.
🧹 Roads already being swept.
🏃 Smooth, well-maintained roads that give runners and cyclists the confidence to use them every morning.
🚶 Wide, continuous footpaths protected by safety railings—not occupied by two-wheelers.
🌳 Landscaped medians and green spaces that are actually maintained.
🛣️ Clear lane markings and road signs that are visible.
🚦 Better traffic discipline.
🔧 Maintenance teams responding before problems become bigger problems.
✨ An industrial township that feels clean, organised and cared for.
Now keep driving.
The moment you leave ELCITA’s jurisdiction, the difference is impossible to ignore.
Broken footpaths.
Encroachments.
Faded lane markings.
Garbage.
Poor maintenance.
Pedestrians pushed onto the road.
The city changes almost instantly.
That raises an important question.
If Bengaluru can achieve this standard in one part of the city…
Why can’t we achieve it across the rest of Bengaluru?
This isn’t about building something new.
It’s about copying what already works.
Study ELCITA’s operating model.
Understand its maintenance standards.
Measure its response times.
Document its best practices.
Then replicate them—first on the Outer Ring Road, then across every zone of Bengaluru.
Good governance should never depend on your PIN code.
Every Bengalurean deserves the same quality of roads, footpaths and public spaces.
We don’t need another pilot project.
We don’t need another committee.
We already have a working model.
Now we need the will to scale it.

Bengaluru's public transport system virtually shuts down after 6pm.
With only skeletal @BMTC_BENGALURU services on the roads-largely because most bus crew work 'general shift' (6am- 8am & 6pm-7pm) )- @OfficialBMRCL becomes the only reliable option.
Demand for cabs & autorickshaws spikes, making them expensive for office-goers. No shared autos either.

NEW TRAILER - Friday the 13th meets 127 Hours in survival slasher PITFALL, available at home on June 30.
A young man becomes separated from his friends in the woods and plunges into a ten-foot pit lined with spikes, impaling his leg. He realizes the fall wasn’t an accident.
A 10km stretch on Bangalore ORR hosts the world’s elite tech giants (Google, Amazon, NVIDIA, etc.). A few 100m away in Green Glen Layout—where homes cost 3 Cr+—roads are in pathetic state.
Who is responsible for this apathy? It’s time for serious accountability! @DKShivakumar
Show me one politician from Telangana who has done this for Public Transit? Metro LRT?
Can Hyderabad ever have a minister like KA/ BLR?
We are 25+ years behind.
Bengaluru Development Minister @krishnabgowda on Thursday announced a special grant of Rs 2,000 crore for upgrading damaged ward roads across five city corporations under Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).
Officials have been directed to identify poor roads, prepare estimates, float short-term tenders and begin work immediately, with a target to complete projects within four to six months.
The minister also reviewed Bengaluru’s garbage crisis, directing officials to strictly enforce door-to-door waste collection, mandatory wet-dry waste segregation, GPS tracking of garbage vehicles, and stronger action against littering. A special drive will clear roadside garbage, debris and weeds.
He said visible improvements in waste management should be achieved within three to four months through better implementation of the existing system and greater citizen participation @GBA_office@GBAChiefComm
🚨Why is Bengaluru Metro adding only 6 km a year? @krishnabgowda says speeding up public transit is top priority
