In the 75 days since the speed camera at 10540 S Western Ave was installed in late May, it's issued a mind-boggling 59,152 tickets. That's over 46 an hour! The peak was on 6/9, when it caught 1352 speeders. Or 1.3 a minute.
But what do you expect when the road looks like this?

As a hockey fan and proud NJ resident the death of Johnny Hockey and his brother is a heartbreaking tragedy. We don’t need to live like this - NJ is considering a bill now #S361 to make our streets safer for bikes and pedestrians. Time to get it passed @GovMurphy@VisionZero4NJ
Absolutely tragic, rest in peace to Johnny and Matthew. Killed on bicycles in New Jersey.
My road bike has sat in storage collecting dust for the last three years because of the awful people on the road, like the one that took these two lives. Do better.

“There’s a lot more to do, but just being able to see that tremendous progress should be a clear call to the state and county that Vision Zero is possible and achievable. So let’s work on it.” @SafeStreetsJC https://t.co/mNlNwND6YC
New Jersey is the country’s most densely populated state and among our nation’s most traveled. Continued efforts to evaluate traffic safety and transportation system designs with the goal of reducing crashes must be a top priority for our state.

Big day in Trenton: Thank you to the Senate Transportation Committee + Chair @PatrickDiegnan for advancing S2885 - Establishing a state-wide Vision Zero Task Force.
Thank you to the VZNJ members who were able to testify and share their stories.
