Dr. Mahlet, a pathologist, was arrested in Addis Ababa after speaking out about Ethiopia’s healthcare crisis. Charged with “inciting unrest” despite not practicing for over a year. Her crime? Telling the truth. #FreeDrMahlet#Ethiopia#HealthWorkersStrike#freedrmahlet
Dr. Mahlet Gush Gebrewold, an anatomic pathologist who bravely spoke to @BBCWorld about the crisis facing Ethiopian health workers, has been abducted by security forces. Her family is desperate. Demand her release.

Congratulations, President-elect @realDonaldTrump.
The partnership between @WHO and America is vital, and has significantly improved the health of both Americans and people across the globe.
We look forward to working with your administration for global health security.
God can make you invisible to the enemy. Plans that were sent to stop you, strategies designed to keep you from your destiny, cannot stand against our God. Don’t judge your situation too soon. Wait till you see what God is about to do.
What we are seeing in Tigray is a complete disgrace! Our own leaders are facilitating the division amongst our people for their own thrones! One thing the enemies weren’t able to achieve was to divide us but we have leaders who can’t see the future beyond their chairs. ፎእ!
It is heartening to see around 2,000 Tigrayan IDPs return to their ancestral land. However, over a million IDPs and more than 70,000 refugees remain displaced and in distress. We urge all stakeholders to intensify efforts for the complete withdrawal of invading forces from Tigray and ensure the safe repatriation of all displaced individuals.

Major General Hadush "Hayelom" Araya - "led his forces to northern Shewa and later marched to Addis Ababa coming out victorious in 1991. One of his most daring acts was the "Agazi Operation", which happened on the early evening of 5 February 1985: he led a squad of TPLF fighters in attacking the main prison in Mek'ele, and freed over a thousand prisoners, killed 16 prison guards and wounded 9 soldiers without losing a single man.[2] He later become one of the military leaders in the defence force of the Transitional Government of Ethiopia."
You won’t have the strength to keep moving forward if you’re weeping over what’s behind. Start kissing things goodbye. You’ve spent enough energy on the past; that’s not taking you anywhere.
3 years ago today, the state-led #TigrayGenocide swept through my homeland like a wildfire, consuming everything in its path.
Living in the diaspora, like many others, I felt a compelling urge to step in & advocate for those who were facing extermination in the shadows.
It's been a year since the #Tigray peace agreement was reached.
A year later - humanitarian supplies remain limited, and Eritrean and Amhara forces are still occupying part of the region and perpetrating atrocities.
The 6+ million people who survived a brutal two-year siege deserve peace, health, and well-being.
