For the record, I want Workday to be awesome for not only the front end users but also for us on the back end too! I want my job to be easier so of course I want Workday to be the best there is. Until then I will continue to highlight the things about them that drive me crazy.
@nsdelvalle@spamallama2@Workday redundant power systems, generators, etc. It's not like these things don't exist already. Did @Workday think it can't happen to them?
I don't buy that @workday is down due to "an electrical fault in a datacenter". Aren't they hosted on AWS? They are not reporting any issues, and why would a single datacenter cause a global outage? Fat-finger admin mistake? Ransomeware attack maybe?
The longer it's down for, the more @workday customers should be thinking about contingency plans for if it doesn't come back soon enough to meet certain business deadlines (e.g. payroll). Also, what you may have to do if the restored version is older than expected.
@Workday@ChandlerMorse What the heck is up with Workday today? I've tried to apply to two different jobs today at different companies that use your platform and Workday has been unavailable. What's happening?
@dunkertim@Workday@ChandlerMorse Yeah, this is so "non-cloud" it's unreal. Even as a solo dev, my apps and services are automatically replicated across more than one datacenter precisely to avoid this kind of 1990's downtime.
