@01000011S@_BTO@bto_somerset1 Nice - structurally it looks like a Herring thingy.
I have volunteered for Cheddar so I need to go and see what I have let myself in for
@danwatsonbirder @JacksWildLife__ I got more of a Grey-faced Buzzard vibe but I don't know the status in Thailand. Too long winged for a typical accipiter imo
@JeremyLindsell@robsrw @GuywithASD @Team_eBird Fair enough, I didn't know there was a restriction on who could report ID errors although, in my experience, if incorrect species IDs are reported they are addressed.
@pmandrews1973@RSPBRyeMeads@ryemeadsrg@_BTO No comment on this particular situation as I wasn't there, but it is not unusual to catch birds at a roost (e.g. swallows, buntings) and release the following morning (at first light) as it is preferable to releasing in the dark. It is permissible under bto guidance.
Returning colour-ringed Kentish Plover at Burnham-on-sea this morning with ringed plovers. Distantly on Stert island, viewed from south end of esplanade.
Also 1+ Red-throated diver, a distant GN/BT Diver, and common Scoter.
