Open source is the way forward! @TencentGlobal, the gaming giant behind stakes in studios like @riotgames, @EpicGames, @supercell, @Ubisoft, @Miniclip, just announced that they open-sourced their 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗻 (𝗛𝗬) 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹!
That’s a big deal.
Tencent likely sits on one of the richest datasets of interactive 3D worlds and game mechanics anywhere - across genres, player behaviors, and live systems.
So this isn’t just another model release.
It signals where things are heading:
The value in game development is no longer just production efficiency.
It’s also about who owns, trains, and operationalizes the data behind these worlds - and how that feeds into AI-driven pipelines.
What their open-source world-model unlocks:

Most people think Spatial Computing is just about "big screens." They're missing the point. @Google@Android XR’s new auto-spatialization just turned the Play Store into an immersive app library!
We also saw @SadlyItsBradley's envision thinking games as 6DoF "portals". He’s right - but this isn’t just for gamers. Stereoscopic viewing and Parallax might be the new standard for Spatial Entertainment or Apps like:

The future of world models might’ve just shown up at #WorldsinAction Hack last weekend. 🌍
Using @theworldlabs Marble API and our @SensAIHackademy Unity kit, the Best World Implementation with Pico Category Winner Team SyncSpace (Weibo Xu & Qinchuan Zhang ) turns real rooms into fully aligned, playable game scenes. This is real-to-virtual spatial alignment: walls, objects, and ceilings instantly transform to match the @fdotinc Hack Area. And with LLM voice interaction and real-time @MeshyAI object generation, they create fully dynamic gameplay.
My take: With XR companies like @PICOXR and @Meta pushing Hyperscape and Scene Understanding features and World Labs raising $1B (especially the $200M from @autodesk), the future of customizable reality is coming fast.
