Happy (belated) birthday to Charles Darwin, the naturalist and geologist who forever changed our understanding of the natural world!🌍

#ICYMI last week marked 200 years since the naming of the very first dino to be scientifically described - Megalosaurus! This dino would have likely roamed in Yorkshire, and you can see bones loaned from @morethanadodo, one with Mary Morland's handwriting on it, @YorkshireMuseum!

[Fossils in t'hills @FossilsH]

Today's the big day!
Happy Birthday Megalosaurus!

You might be 200 years old today but you don't look a day over 166 million years!

Read all about the first dinosaur and its Yorkshire relatives in our blog!

Today I had a fantastic time leading a fossil walk for a women's support group as part of @yorkshiremuseum's Mary Anning exhibit!

Providing fossil hunting opportunities for people who don't normally have them is a brilliant way to honour her legacy!

[YMT Science Team @YMT_Science]

Look out for the exhibition @YorkshireMuseum from 14th July! https://t.co/oxYt9GTyiQ

[Geologists' Assoc @GeolAssoc]
