@JuliaBradbury Oh come on Julia he has the magic of Christmas behind him. Have a positive mindset and believe he will be perfectly okay and he will be.
Day 48 of lockdown for us. We're shielding. I'm trying to finish this degree, work (from home) & parent / educate a kid with SEN. Geology Twitter is keeping me sane. Thanks 😃
Today’s ‘Ancient Air' meeting @UniversityLeeds was fascinating. For me the take-home message was that even the ‘fastest’ event in earth history was an order of magnitude slower than the rate of current climate change 😮 Thanks @yorksgeolsoc@SEELeeds for a v thought-provoking day
As the rain falls across the UK and the nights draw in, have a look at the Open University Geological Society https://t.co/iZjiTG9baK – reading material for autumnal nights, camaraderie, lectures and more!
We're really excited to be launching our Family #Bushcraft sessions at the North Yorkshire Waterpark, Wykeham Lakes, near #Scarborough on the 8th and 28th August. Book now at https://t.co/rVrccDM5Qy
Having a brilliant day being filmed by @BBCTheOneShow on the North Norfolk coast today. @BritGeoSurvey Engineering Geologist David Boon is talking about how landslides work and why they happen here - like the one last week at Sidestrand. It’ll be on the telly next week!
For #MineralMonday here’s my lovely specimen of yellow #fluorite from the Hilton Mine in #Cumbria. Fluorite comes in many different colours, but the Hilton mine is famous for this rare yellow variety. It’s also fluorescent in UV too! #geology @uniofyorkcll
Thank you @drakesimon11 What an amazing few days for our members, learning geological mapping. 3 days ago many of them couldn’t do dips and strike. Now they can draw a map, do a field description and have completed a map. @DiGMapGB@OU_EEE@GeolAssoc@OpenUniGeolSoc@S309geology
