A new SuStaIn... :-)
#AAIC2025 Monday TALK by @YoungAlexL from @POND_UCL: 4:15pm, session 2-32-FRS-A.
"Disease timeline modelling of amyloid and tau PET reveals dynamic timescales of amyloid and tau accumulation in Alzheimer's disease"
The posts develop and apply foundation models, LLMs, and disease progression models to clinical records, neuropathology, imaging, omics, and biomarker data as part of the RLW BRAIN programme led by Prof Tom Warner and Dr Zane Jaunmuktane.
Two postdoc positions available developing and applying AI and machine learning tools for neurodegenerative disease research with Prof Danny Alexander and I.
Closing date 30th July.

Disease progression modelling reveals heterogeneity in trajectories of Lewy-type α-synuclein pathology
@SEMastenbroek strikes again!
Using SuStaIn modeling of neuropathological data (n=814) we show substantial heterogeneity in the temporal spread of Lewy body pathology, with 81.9% showing earliest pathology in the olfactory bulb while 18.1% initially exhibited abnormalities in brainstem regions.

Extremely happy to see this one out at last!!!🎉🎊
Here, we showed that a single CSF draw 💉is sufficient to accurately stage participants along the #Alzheimer's continuum.
This has been a long and tough journey, but totally worth it to finally share it with the whole community☺️

New pre-print alert! The aim of this study was to identify imaging subtypes of CBS based solely on a data-driven assessment of atrophy patterns, to test the hypothesis that modelling disease subtype and stage jointly would provide information on underlying pathology in CBS.. 1/7
