@nessyyxx I agree. A true leader admits when they are right AND when they are wrong. A true leader will show that he/she is not perfect but they can possibly lead civilization to a better state. “Leaders” who always think they are right are usually the most corrupt and incorrect. #I2E21
@i2e21Ke There would be a reason as to why that person might be right and it’s because we don’t really know what life is. When we think about life, nobody has an answer for what it is, all we can do is exist and try to live the best lives we can possibly live. So there is a chance that we
@JonathanDaity That is the perfect way of explaining it. With other courses, the answer will be straightforward & boring but with ethics, you’re forced to think more than any other course and there can be an infinite amount of answers sometimes. That’s why I think it is very interesting. #I2E21
@SydneyEthics I disagree bc for example, firefighters are considered brave for what they do although that is their job. I think there are definitely firefighters who’ve gotten used to the job and don’t get scared anymore when they face adversity. They handle it well bc of experience. #I2E21
In psychology, I was learning about this woman who was forced to eat healthy foods throughout her childhood and it got me thinking… is this ethical? Technically it’s for her own good but it’s against her will. Let me know what you think. #I2E21
@sqrimbey I return the cart because it relieves people of more stress. It’s reminds me of when you’re at a restaurant: you can either clean/organize as much of your table as you can before you leave or you can leave the entire mess for the employees. I think the 1st option is nicer. #I2E21
@moses5892 I agree. Present day life always prepares you for possible worse scenarios in the future and without that “training” we would be clueless and bad things could happen to us or the people around us. It’s like apocalypse movies where a kid is taught to fight or not taught anything-
@briannaruffinn @c3148g@pomegranate327 This is a perfect way of describing America. This makes me think of another example with healthy foods. It’s no coincidence that healthy food is more expensive than unhealthy foods (especially fast food). It’s disgusting how money hungry people have become and will remain. #I2E21
@TheCliffe36 think when needing to save your loved ones, anything goes whether it’s morally good or not. The people who are saying that it’s bad would probably steal the medicine because of selfishness and not being able to put themselves in another’s shoes at the moment. #I2E21
@jozefgar I don’t think that automatically leads you to happiness because you can just be living (meaning that you can feel nothing but still be living a good structured life that you’re doing well in). It’s like being a robot. A robot is essentially perfect but they can’t feel. #I2E21
@jozefgar I agree. I never understood how caring or being sensitive was labeled as a “feminine trait” even though they’re just emotions/traits that apply to all humans. It really shows a sign of ignorance in humans. I doubt this will ever change for the better to be honest. #I2E21
@EthicsBabyy I think women deciding whether to abort their baby or not is a moral dilemma because on one side, they would abort a baby but deal with backlash because some think it’s “murder” whereas if they don’t abort it, they might be miserable because of it which isn’t good either. #I2E21
@KelzPag I actually found his theories easy to understand but I think it’s because I spent more time with it. I read about it over and over again whereas with other topics, I’ll just read it once. #I2E21
@_zahrawest I think it does apply to them bc putting prisoners on death row is an easy way out for them. Most of the time, death row prisoners do not fear death. There’s little suffering whereas I think they do have the right to life, but to suffer because they made others suffer. #I2E21
@miiiamor7 I feel like going to work is a good example because the right thing to do when you have a job is to be a good employee and go to work but we all know what it feels like to not want to go into work lol. It’s one of the hardest things to do. #I2E21
@miiiamor7 People find happiness from different things whether they’re immoral or not and while I do think that being happy is important, there are things that are more important like being a good person or surviving or even helping out other people more than ourselves someitmes. #I2E21
@ScottUB21@TPhi341 I think this holds less weight than taking a humans life to save mine. I don’t think it is morally okay to do this to but I know I would feel worse if I killed a human instead of an animal. Probably bc we eat animals and treat them as pets but we don’t do that with humans. #I2E21
