Someone should make 'Makers of a Nation' by Hilary Ngʼweno available to Kenyans online to watch.
Last few days have indicated that there are many people who are ignorant of Kenya’s political and constitutional history
When Raila Odinga fell out with FORD-Kenya in the 90s, he resigned as Lang’ata MP, formed NDP, faced a by-election and won. How many politicians today have that kind of courage?
He’s called the Enigma for a reason.
Let them scream and ran around until they fall down in a heap of fitful sleep.
Raila was a man of spectacle. We have no business burying him in quiet single file and military schedules.
Stop the clocks and let the people escort the nation’s champion of disruption as he lived.
It’s a full moon today! 🌕
Skywatchers in most of Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia may also see a lunar eclipse, or Blood Moon. Totality will begin around 1730 UTC and last for about 82 minutes.

Today marks 3 years since we released our first science images! 🤩
We’ve peered into the early universe, explored the atmospheres of exoplanets, shed light on black holes, and so much more!

This is what i meant. When time for reckoning comes, you will stand alone. No uniform, No gun, No colleagues, No orders, Nothing!… Just You. “I was just following orders” won’t cut it…
FT Big Read on South Africa - I’m not sure it’s possible to gauge the success of the GNU just yet. The test is whether there are tangible economic improvements in the next few months

The Bank is recommending:
· Reduction of the public sector's travel-related budget, estimated at Kes 19.6 billion, by 50.0%
· A hiring freeze for two years, conducting a skills audit, & redeploying existing staff across the public service
· Phase out the market adjustment component of current remunerative allowance practice & instead incorporate the appropriate compensation for skills into the basic salary
Celebrated Kenyan novelist and playwright Ngugi wa Thiong'o, whose sharp criticisms of post-independence elites led to his jailing and two decade in exile, has died at the age of 87, Kenya's president said. https://t.co/o95kRijaMA
“If you know all the languages of the world but don’t know your mother tongue, that is enslavement,” Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o told me in 2015.
“Tribalism is a colonial invention,” he added
"Our lives are a battlefield on which is fought a continuous war between the forces that are pledged to confirm our humanity and those determined to dismantle it; those who strive to build a protective wall around it, and those who wish to pull it down; those who seek to mold it, and those committed to breaking it up; those whose aim is to open our eyes, to make us see the light and look to tomorrow; and those who wish to lull us into closing our eyes." ~the Devil on the Cross.
Ngugi wa Thiong'o was a consistent voice in reminding us of our humanity. He was a one of a kind literarist who used his art as a protective wall for the ideals of being human. Through his work, he shaped and moulded a society of value and virtue. The writing maestro was truly a shining light among us that gave all his life to pointing us towards who we ought to be, and how we ought to live. In the battlefield of life, Ngugi wa Thiong'o was a five-star General in the army for justice.
Kenya mourns a true patriot. A resounding voice of reason whose wisdom will live on among us, guiding us through life's toughest realities. He may have left us, but his legacy has no bounds. May the ultimate legend of Kenyan literature rest in peace. Sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all we who knew and appreciated him and his work.
