AN UPDATE FROM THE MOUNTAINS
We spent a few days in Pitztal zooming out and reflecting on the work ahead.
A small team can look very small against a mountain
and still move something very big.
That is the kind of company we’re building.
When we are not in the mountains, we are quietly building and transforming critical infrastructure for the global economy.
We believe in going to the source, respecting the people closest to the work, and reflecting rigorously on how to improve.
We are growing across San Francisco, Berlin, and Toronto for roles in software, ML, product and investing. Reach out if that resonates.
@sindresorhus Technically yes, I had to use it for fraudulent payments in the past that were not automatically detected, unfortunately. And with that bank I actually had to fill out a PDF to justify instead of just in-app (as with other banks).
@christianreber Definitely having thoughts on quality of life here - food and sports options are great all around but main trouble is air quality and cars… no focus on pedestrians / biking. And yeah not an environment to potentially have kids in we feel.
@zaydenam I’d also ask the question - what are you actually working on? A lot of stuff just exists as work but is it meaningful? That work feels like if it’s not done now maybe tomorrow or maybe next week - no one really cares… having customer contact helps seeing the important things…

Bard, ChatGPT, and Claude. Great benefits for consumers now. What's next?
At Cresta, we've been working on Generative AI for enterprise since 2018. Here's a quick blog post to summarize some of our learnings. 1/🧵👉

An absolutely underrated side-effect of any company that uses design docs / RFCs / ERDs / ADRs and circulates these:
It's a *lot* easier for engineering managers, tech leads, staff+ engs to keep up with what is happening.
Without such a culture: these people are often left out.
Exciting news! Our company, Cresta, is recognized as an Innovator in the new @AragonResearch1 report on conversational AI in contact centers. Check out our latest blog post for more details!

One reason trust is important for high performing teams is because instincts often outperform well-articulated explanations.
Without trust, people never get to go with their gut, and so you lose out on one of the most impressive human functions.
Cresta Director is your one stop shop for AI-enabled coaching, QA and performance management. It offers Contact Center managers visibility into frontline conversations and offers tools and workflows that accelerate performance management and QA.

Interesting how there are many case stories and case studies pinning the success on projects on certain methodologies and approaches, but we rarely talk about the outsized role motivation plays.
A motivated & cohesive team can succeed despite whatever process gets in their way.
@DThompsonDev Started at around 12ish... got into coding by someone at the local Chess club😅 Also my dad was a software engineer back then - but he never really taught me / showed me something, so I basically had to learn everything by experimenting...
Was ist da denn los…?
