Korea just got slapped with a 25% tariff—because of trade barriers that don’t exist. They already have a free trade deal with the U.S. Zero tariffs. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. A kimchi donut.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dr. Samantha Garza. In honor of Sam's life, we invite you to donate in her memory to fund brain tumor research. Thank you to everyone who supported Sam throughout her battle. We love you forever, Sam.

Today is a sad and harmful day for patients and health care across the country, and its impact will reverberate for years. This bill moves us in the wrong direction. It will make it harder to access care and make patients sicker because the lifelines of Medicaid and CHIP are severed. That is unacceptable. https://t.co/W8qkg64y6d
People do not understand that if 4,500 J1 doctors are removed THERE IS NO POOL OF 4,500 doctor lying around to replace them with.
It also means around 500 programs will suddenly be competing for those available.
And..... we have only THREE WEEKS till orientation

The best part of @ASCO#ASCOAdvocacySummit is advocating on Capital Hill for patients with cancer.
The 2nd best part is seeing some of my favorite fellow health policy friends, colleagues, and collaborators.
My guess?
1 in 8 people in academic medicine were on an h1b at one point
If you add that to the people whose parents were on an h1b it is probably 1 in 3
Here are 10 randomized trials I'd love to see (share links if they've been done!):
1. Potassium repletion to >4.0 vs 3.5 or 3.0 in hospitalized medical patients
2. Treatment vs observation for hypertensive urgency
3. Iron supplementation (likely IV) vs placebo for anemia of chronic inflammation
4. Diazepam vs Lorazepam (both symptom-triggered) for alcohol withdrawal
5. Symptom-triggered benzos versus phenobarbitol for alcohol withdrawal
6. NSAIDs vs opioids for acute pain in CKD 3+
7. NSAIDs vs opioids for acute pain in AKI
8. Transfusing for a hemoglobin <7 g/dL vs < 6g/dL (or lower) in hospitalized medical patients
9. Tranfsusing for a hemoglobin <7 g/dL vs for symptoms in hospitalized medical patients
10. IV furosemide vs PO torsemide for acute on chronic heart failure

Undoubtedly, a landmark review on #prostate#cancer#disparities to read and cite for years to come 📜
Congrats to a herculean effort by @EChrisDee who poured his heart and soul into this review 🎊
The hallmark of expertise is no longer how much you know. It's how well you synthesize.
Information scarcity rewarded knowledge acquisition. Information abundance requires pattern recognition.
It's not enough to collect facts. The future belongs to those who connect dots.
