Today, the American Energy Alliance is pleased to release the 2026 American Energy Scorecard for members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. This comprehensive tool evaluates legislators’ voting records and cosponsorship decisions on critical energy issues to inform voters and hold Members of Congress accountable to their constituents.

Earlier this week The Institute for Energy Research released its newest paper, National Environmental Policy Act: An Obstacle to Affordable and Reliable Energy.

As permitting reform dominates the conversation in Washington, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is rightly in the spotlight. Originally designed to review and disclose the environmental effects of federal projects, NEPA has devolved into one of the most consequential obstacles to energy development and infrastructure construction in the United States. The question is no longer whether this law needs to be reexamined, but rather how. IER’s latest report examines how NEPA has been weaponized over time and outlines the steps needed to fix it. https://t.co/0MA8MmAilS

[Congressman Michael Guest @RepMichaelGuest]

I am proud to receive a 100% rating on my American Energy Alliance scorecard. I will continue to support policies that encourage affordable, reliable, and abundant energy for Mississippians.

During her time in Congress, Mary Peltola earned a dismal 37% score on the American Energy Scorecard. This contrasts sharply with Senator Sullivan’s impressive 93% lifetime record of defending affordable, reliable energy. https://t.co/9WTgBe80Sd

[American Energy Alliance @AEA]

During his decades in the Senate, Sherrod Brown earned a dismal 2% lifetime score on the American Energy Scorecard. This contrasts sharply with Senator Jon Husted’s perfect 100% record of defending affordable, reliable energy. https://t.co/xltgkEYSVz

[American Energy Alliance @AEA]

As voters evaluate leaders and their records, rhetoric matters far less than actual votes cast in Washington. Mary Peltola’s undeniable record demonstrates a failure to stand firm for domestic energy independence and fiduciary responsibility when it mattered most.

By contrast, Senator Dan Sullivan consistently fights for Alaskans and affordable energy. When voters go to the ballot box, they must look directly at each candidate’s proven track record on energy and hold lawmakers accountable for their votes. https://t.co/fsbhUTPiVT

This November, voters in Alaska face a stark, clear choice about the future of their energy prices. A look at the voting records of Senator @DanSullivan_AK and @MaryPeltola reveals two completely different visions for America’s energy security.

Ohio families deserve abundant, affordable, and reliable energy. When voters head to the ballot box this November, they must remember exactly who fought for their wallets and who spent a decades-long career voting to empty them. https://t.co/xltgkEYSVz

🇺🇸 BIG WIN FOR U.S. SECURITY: Days after President Trump’s historic Greenland defense deal, U.S.-based Greenland Mines applied to double its $2.05B rare earth district to 175 sq miles—aiming to supply 1/3 of the world's non-Chinese magnet metals for our defense & energy grid! 💥🛡️ https://t.co/L0PeF071Af

Instead of taking responsibility for New York’s anti-energy policies under her leadership and her preference for expensive offshore wind power and solar power, @KathyHochul is hoping New Yorkers are content with an paltry election-year bribe. https://t.co/RE9IId5gMF

[Institute for Energy Research @IERenergy]

New York’s residential electricity prices are among the highest in the nation, 60% higher than the national average and 95% higher than Florida’s average residential prices, where many New Yorkers have migrated. Hochul admits that the rebate would not resolve the underlying causes of high energy prices. https://t.co/An5XdDvIjd

You can always count on Gavin Newsom to flip-flop in a way that makes energy more expensive. https://t.co/5AJba8taIT

I am proud to announce that I have been named an @AEA Energy Champion!

The Trump administration and House Republicans are continuing to work to unleash American energy dominance.

Producing more energy at home strengthens our economy, protects our national security, and reduces our dependence on foreign adversaries.

[Rep. Bob Latta @boblatta]

As Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee on Energy and Commerce, I’m proud to receive a perfect score from the American Energy Alliance. An all-of-the-above strategy to maintain American energy dominance is a priority. We must continue to produce as much reliable, affordable energy as possible to ensure success and security for the future of our country.

[Dave Joyce @RepDaveJoyce]

Thank you, @AEA, for the recognition. I’ll continue working to strengthen American energy production and innovation while lowering costs for families across Northeast Ohio.

[Rep Andy Biggs @RepAndyBiggsAZ]

I've been named an American Energy Champion by the American Energy Alliance, earning a perfect 100% score on the organization’s American Energy Scorecard for the 119th Congress.

I will continue fighting to unleash our nation’s vast energy resources, eliminate unnecessary federal regulations, strengthen our electric grid, and ensure that the United States never has to depend on hostile foreign nations to power our economy.
