Spare me the pearl-clutching — especially from Republican Members of Congress and online MAGA grifters who have cheered President Trump's weaponization of the government against those he doesn’t like, as recently as last week. This is a subject I know something about: Less than a year ago, Trump directed the DOJ and FBI to investigate me, and then tried to criminally indict me for a 90 second video, exercising basic free speech. The same free speech you’re exercising now, lying about what I said in this clip. If not for an anonymous group of grand jury members standing up for America's laws, I’d be criminally indicted for sedition. President Trump has turned the government against people, with raucous support from you and virtually all D.C. Republicans. So spare us the manufactured outrage.
America must be a place where the rule of law still matters. Those laws should apply to everyone equally. If you have aided in the corrupt use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to benefit the President or his family, or you have violated the law in order to carry out guidance from the President, you should be held accountable. And given how rampant that corruption appears to the average American, people looking to work for his Administration should realize that while the Supreme Court has granted the President immunity, it has not done the same for those who do illegal things at his behest.
@INArteCarloDoss Be suspicious of anyone who tolerates or even worse associates with the MAGA crowd, whatever credentials they may have had in their past lives. The lack of a moral compass and the intellectual dishonesty will inevitably be there, no way around it…
@TheStalwart Great question for the press conference. If he couldn’t even say that Biden won the 2020 election during his confirmation, it will be fun to see him dodge this one…
@BobEUnlimited I’m long HFGM and HFMF and if you create a beta-ETF ex-rules changes I’ll shift all my passive holdings to it. There is a biz opportunity here
@dampedspring I’m ccing Andy because would love to get his take
Rule changes for the SpaceX $SPCX IPO:
Index providers waived the profitability requirement and cut the seasoning window from 90 days to 5.
This forces over $30 trillion in passive 401k and retirement money to buy SpaceX at IPO valuations.
Bloomberg Intelligence estimates S&P 500 funds must absorb 19% of SpaceX's float within 6 months.
Russell 1000 and Nasdaq 100 funds will absorb 24%.
The rules built to protect passive investors:
1. S&P 500 has required 12 months of trading and 4 quarters of GAAP profitability since 2002. Both waived.
2. Nasdaq cut its inclusion window from 90 trading days to 15.
3. FTSE Russell cut its to 5.
All three benchmarks are now structured to buy SpaceX at IPO pricing.
@gbrew24 Is the group of people who participate just parroting hawkish think thank talking points or do they actually have balanced views grounded in reality? That’s the key question…
@rev_cap They are not folding, if the regime can survive, retain control of SoH, and get sanctions relief, a return to JCPOA on the nuclear front would be a small price to pay… They accepted it before, now they get tolls + even more sanctions relief
