Eight metrics for automatically quantifying syntactic complexity in speech were compared in terms of how well they predicted age from speech. The authors' novel multi-dimensional methods had the highest performance. https://t.co/HOizVVQMr6

Hillary Clinton explains the Israel-Gaza war, the difference between Hamas and PLO, and what is needed for peace in the region. Take 8 minutes and watch.

It was so fun working on this project with the great teams at @GondaBrain BIU and Oldenburg. Spontaneous speech is ummm an amazing window to to real-life language processing and the uh auditory attentional mechanisms they you know require.
Lahav Halevy: On October 7, Young Israeli women were raped by Hamas terrorists. Some were kidnapped and taken to Gaza. Yet, not a single women or feminist organization around the globe, raised any voice of either criticizing the horrible deeds of the Hamas or >>

Negation exhibits a sustained effect in delayed verification tasks. What does that teach us about linguistic representation in working memory?
(In other words: Our delayed paper is finally out, I hope it has a sustained effect 😉)

@baror_shira No prob. :) Just FYI - the assumption of normality is about the *residuals*, not the data itself. You can test the ANOVA residuals with a qqplot to see how different they are from a normal distribution.
Do you prefer tweets with *few* characters or with *a small number* of characters? Apparently, there is a difference. On how the brain processes #negativePolarity in #quantifiers and in #adjectives, see work by @agmon_galit@ISeeAndSee & Isabelle Deschamps https://t.co/vzIPAWttlA
Our fMRI-Attention-to-speech paper is available on bioRxiv. Check it out!
It was great working on this with Paz Har-Shai Yahav, @ElanaZGolumbic, and @MichalBS1!
One of things that I find most challenging during covid-lockdown, is dealing with all the competing demands for my attention.
Luckily, we just did some research on how the brain helps us do this!
