🚨Full interview of Egypt's Coach Hossam Hassan at full-time:
"I will say what's on my mind regardless of the consequence, this was clearly a rigged match and the whole world saw it"
"And I want to say one more thing, if they want Argentina to win so bad, why call everyone to come and participate?"
An MLB player tosses a ball to a kid wearing his jersey.
The kid makes the catch… then hands it to his little sister and gives her a hug. How can you not love baseball
@briannekimmel I appreciate the nuance, but I wonder if there’s a risk of emitting the wrong external signal, attracting in the wrong talent — which then doesn’t gel with the actual vibe once it gets there?
@thepatwalls I had to pick one thing I'd seen in 2025 to share w/ my community; could have been a book, movie, show, song, tweet, reel, anything -- I went with this.
Enjoyed this. Another way to think about “inspiration” beyond product and problem per se is founders who inspire you. Their social feed or blog posts, interviews etc. All great signal, I’ve found.
More broadly, job search is like any other open-ended/creative problem — early on you explore and diverge, ask, (as you do here) — what interests/inspires? Then you exploit/converge.
@tomowenmorgan I agree. It's already so important. But as it gets noisier and noisier "out there", the ability to hear that intuition -- which only ever whispers to you -- becomes a superpower.
How one learns to trust their intuition also then becomes a fascinating/important question...
@sethbannon It never upset anyone when the Pope asked the same for Palestine. They were fine ignoring him for that, and giving tech a free pass. Apply similar ideals to AI though and suddenly tech is held to a new standard.
@TaraViswanathan Diverge-->Converge. Explore-->Exploit.
Hands-down the best framework I've found for understanding careers, work -- any / all creative or open-ended effort or problem, tbh.
And you can apply that awareness of where you're at in the cycle to your hour, week, day or year!
@gabriel1 What's bizarre, too, is that we optimize all the other realms of life -- health, wealth, sleep, you name it. But when it comes to the thing we spend 2/3 of our waking hours on? Naw, let's just wing that and hope for the best.
@jasonfried Men, esp, are funny about this though -- there's an element of pride / vulnerability involved in acknowledging you want or need the contact. You're not supposed to need it (which is BS, we all do). But once you get past that and start the habit of "just pick up and call" -- 🙌
@jasonfried I started doing this a couple of years ago with close friends and it's been transformational. But you literally have to sell the -- "Hey, if you don't get me, it's ok, I'll call you back, and vica versa". 😆
@kylascan I get the feeling people know and see the government is “captured”; and have made the decision to join the grift this time, and get while the getting’s good. Which in turn hastens the decline.
