TypeSafe AI's Diogo Almeida expects an inverse SaaSpocalypse, and Martin Casado calls it "SaaSpalooza":
Ben: "When the coding agents came out, it was the SaaSpocalypse, and all their values dropped through the floor. Then when Jev came out, every SaaS company is like, 'This is the greatest thing ever.'"
Diogo: "In the SaaSpocalypse story, the story I feel has panned out really poorly is that software is very cheap and perhaps easy to replicate. I could believe the former. I could not believe the latter, because a lot of the stuff happens beneath the hood."
"I think SaaS will be one of the largest winners of the whole AI game. I want to work really, really well with the biggest, most boring... SaaS companies because I think they're the best positioned to know what workflows to automate, what people need. That's their bread and butter."
"Software is always a CapEx investment. You spend it ahead of time to make the experience better, and that gets distributed to all that mass of users."
"I'm not going to forecast anything about the financial markets. But as far as capabilities go, I think it's going to be like an inverse SaaSpocalypse. I'm so jazzed about it. I should make a name..."
Martin: "SaaSpalooza."

The constant decel messaging in Europe is insufferable as an adult, but its effect on kids is worse. As a parent, it's your obligation to counterprogram this nonsense. Show them robots, rockets, and wonders of AI. Show them cathedrals and moon landings. Instill hope in progress.
Today, Pioneer Labs is announcing our first step towards terraforming Mars. 🚀🌼
With equipment that fits in just a single rocket launch, we can convert Martian dirt, water, and air into enough building materials to construct a small city on Mars.
To do it, we made the first microbe for Mars. We found the best microbe on Earth and used evolution to teach it how to source all of its nutrients directly from Martian materials.
The first astronauts will be greeted with safe shelter already filled with water, oxygen, and rocket fuel for the return journey.
This is the first step toward using biology to make Mars a friendly place for life. It lets us live off the land and helps us build the next great frontier.
It's the first of five organisms we need to green Mars ⬇️
BREAKING: Only ~1% of Bending Spoons’ AI requests & tokens goes to frontier models.
99% runs on self-hosted open-weight models.
CEO Luca Ferrari on the shift to Sovereign AI:
“We end up using open-weight models we self-host, so these are basically free. I mean, there is a little bit of cloud cost, but for 99% of the requests and tokens.”
“And the frontier models, generally closed weight, through APIs for maybe 1% of the requests, only for the most complex tasks.”
“Sometimes we use them automatically to check the work that got done by the slightly less intelligent models, as a more senior engineer would with a more junior engineer.”
Dario has written that we need to “pace the frontier,” and Sam has agreed. People may be surprised by my response: go ahead.
You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement.
I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible.
But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier.
Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want.
Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well.
So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it.
If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.
We’re launching AlphaGenome Atlas: an AI-powered searchable database mapping the predicted impact of all 9 billion possible single-letter DNA changes.
Here’s how it could help researchers better understand our biology 🧵
Jo no hi entenc gaire d'aquestes coses.
Però diria que aquesta anàlisi d'en Guifré Homedes, DG d'Amat Immobiliaris, cal llegir-la.

I had early access to GPT-6. This model will completely shatter your understanding of what's possible, and it will start a new era of creativity.
It's hard to explain how big of a jump this is, so I'll share my tests.
1/6 Made this 3D model and animation in code from an image.
GPT-6 Astra built this Manhattan world in Unreal Engine over the course of a week.
It was literally able to go street by street to make each one perfect.
