@dmtrubman That’s unfortunately pretty standard for last minute tickets, esp compared to pre-Covid prices 🙁. I used to do NY<=>PHL a lot and the only way to get the $32 ticket during a normal hour was to book weeks ahead. Bus was usually the move besides rush hour.
@akgerber@newdougman@MarketUrbanism I’d imagine it’s part of the rising costs of the city as well. $500-1000 per month for car/insurance/parking is inconsequential to people with the financial ability to pay $8000/mo for housing. It’s purely a calculation of if there is easy parking.
Since September 2020 up until today, the three lane configuration was @PhillyOTIS 1st choice for making Washington Ave safe for everyone. Thousands of residents supported the plan. Now it's off the table. Hugely disappointing.
We are disappointed to see @PhillyOTIS backpedal on the safest option for all residents and users of Washington Avenue. We will continue to advocate for 3 lanes, especially at crucial intersections at Chew and Stanton. We are also concerned with 5 lanes funneling traffic to 16th.
My single focus is to elect new council people and mayor. I will no longer be backing, promoting or cheerleading any @PhillyOTIS projects until a new admin is in place.
This is an absolute failure of our city government. The three lane option was the clear public favorite throughout the engagement process and by far the safest option.
This year, Washington Avenue will be repaved from Grays Ferry Avenue to 4th Street and improved to increase traffic safety for all users. Learn more about the latest engagement and next steps for the project ➡️ https://t.co/XrTJcQXPbn
This is disgraceful. @PhillyOTIS has given up on the safest option, presented in 2020 as final. Thousands participated in the process, overwhelmingly supporting 3 lanes. Like all of them, I feel betrayed and duped. @PhillyOTIS owns this farce and should be ashamed.
@ABeanTweeting@dansinker About 40 hours based on the tests I’ve seen, where effectiveness drops from the high 90s to low 90s - which is still way way higher than cloth or surgical. If I’m in a riskier environment (airport) I’ll pop on a fresh one, but otherwise reuse for a couple weeks for groceries etc
Absolutely appalling Philadelphia is downzoning transit corridors.
Lots of councilmembers claim to support transit and encouraging investment in formerly divested neighborhoods, but what good are those claims if they're willing to support these downzoning bills?
@zillow is it possible to do an OR keyword search? i.e. "yard OR backyard OR patio OR outdoor OR deck OR roofdeck"
there are too many ways to say outdoor space! 🤪
@erinwb@ftrain A lot of my friends and I went through that at that age. On the whole it's definitely not a great way to spend your teens... but TBH during quarantine it's probably what a lot of their friends are doing as well - hanging out playing games on Discord.
