Opus 5 needs less hand holding because anthropics plan was to ship with pre-built harnesses we all relied on with previous models. And the model got better at adapting at those pre built harnesses.

@runtimeking Hey, I’m learning to extract the genius out of opus 5. It looks promising but it’s a pivoting pain from earlier models. Fable is straight balanced which is a breath of fresh air. Opus 5 I feel so far is misunderstood.

@Austin_Federa @AnthropicAI I think what they blew was relaying the messages as to how different this model is. The more I understand it, the clearer of how genetic this model is becomes. It doesn’t need traditional handholding.

@mweinbach Hey I’m kerning how to use opus 5 from scratch. It’s nothing like older models. I have a feeling I’ll be surprised but for now, I can say it does not work well with my older harnesses and workflows that were optimized for 4.8 gen models

@aienginerd I think we might be approaching opus 5 the wrong way. It’s suppose this new class model that doesn’t need the hand holding or harnesses we all came to rely on for previous Claude models.

@TotteLofstrom Hey, what effort level have you been using it on? I just switched over the medium and it seems like it improved. A lot of us have the same story to tell with the issue working with opus 5 on day one.

@eriskiiii I’m trying to figure it out as well, it has this confidence thing to do it that it followed by admitting it was wrong and it had to redo and redo and redo. With some spurts of brilliance here and there. Table is starting to feel like it degreased as well. I was better with 4.8
