@EricEatsPickles@LukeBornheimer@baywheels I guess I was referring to the big parks in central London - Hyde Park, Regents Park, Battersea Park, Hampstead Heath - all mostly or totally road/car free ๐
@LukeBornheimer@baywheels Just back from Paris & London. Paris's investment in biking infrastructure is overwhelming. Cyclists everywhere. And London's parks don't even have roads, so they are inherently car free. And full of people. Made me sad & angry that it is so difficult to make these changes in SF.
@LondonBreed@SFMTA_Muni is @SlowLakeStreet already over? Was just trying to walk on it with my baby and cars are pretty consistently driving down it. Super dangerous for non car users. What a shame.
@RichmondFamSF @FriendsSlowLake As someone that both would like to see a change in supervisor in 2024 and supports slow lake, these recent developments are so disappointing ๐. Thanks to @RichmondFamSF and @FriendsSlowLake for all you are doing!
@RichmondFamSF @FriendsSlowLake Iโm guessing I know the answer to this, but what if any help has the D1 supervisor been in this? She purportedly supports Vision Zero and pedestrian safety. Seems like supporting a popular slow street in her district would align with that and maybe carry some clout?
@RichmondFamSF Truly begging our supervisor to put action behind her words and make this her top issue. We live around the corner from Fulton and Iโm constantly terrified walking around with my kid.
@ArmandDoma I got j&j in April, Pfizer booster in August and just got another Pfizer from Walgreens. Booked through myturn and didnโt lie about my dates at all. Walgreens just added the shot to my two others on my vax card.
@MayUseFullLane@suldrew@CarFreeJFK@sfcta@conniechansf I think it was Fewer actually. I know the person purporting to represent the Planning Assoc for the Richmond was hand selected by Fewer, although he consulted neither the PAR board nor the PAR membership during any of this process, so I was upset to see him represented as such.
@suldrew@sfbike This snippet isnโt accurately representing the post @sfbike references below which talks about issues with access to GGP generally & how transit and the garage can be improved. Not seeing how the JFK closure makes the transit/garage issues worse so maybe this could be clarified?
@samdman95 And itโs just continuing with putting so much focus on EVs being our climate savior coupled with policies to further that which ignores the other negative externalities of cars. Itโs deeply disappointing that we as a society accept this risk as a necessity of everyday life.
@derivativeburke@nextdoorsv Everything about it is terrible but I also donโt understand what the thesis is supposed to be - CZI is nefariously influencing KQED and UC Berkeley so they misrepresent the housing crisis to what end exactly? Does she think CZI gets a cut of every new apartment built? ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
@suldrew@theodore_gordon@MattHaneySF Yes, the difficult decision between supporting small businesses and creating vibrant commercial corridors vs appeasing a couple of cranky people. Classic SF conundrum ๐ฃ
@theodore_gordon@suldrew@MattHaneySF Probably naive of me, but I donโt see what the downside is for a Sup to aggressively go after reform here. SF vilifies formula retail, purports to want mom & pops everywhere and yet we have so many vacancies bc the system is so cumbersome and broken. Seems like a no brainer.
