Our recent work at the @mikilon lab is out! It turns out that despite the sparsity of VIP/ChAT internerons, they can effectively suppress sensory responses in the mouse barrel cortex. Check it out at @PLOSbiology: https://t.co/ZLLsCen9Ak

Amazon Quick Desktop just launched, and I'm proud to have been one of the creators and science leaders behind it. 🚀
Amazing team. Amazing product. Go try it.

Excited to share our latest work—DREAM: Deep Research Evaluation with Agentic Metrics
TL;DR: How do you reliably evaluate Deep Research Agents (DRAs)? With another agent. We introduce a framework that makes evaluation itself agentic.

I'm excited to present our HaLo-NeRF paper on the Eurographics 2024 conference that starts today 🥳
To those attending the conference, come and hear my talk tomorrow (23/04) at 9:00!
Schizophrenia patients have impaired Exploration-exploitation (E-E) balance suggested as a holistic framework for schizophrenia research. Our study finds that stimulating the GPe can ameliorate the E-E imbalance in schizophrenia-modeled non-human primates (NHPs).
Check out my last chapter(s) of my PhD! published yesterday at @embojournal https://t.co/OUKCrTOslH.
To study the fascinating population of ACh and GABA releasing interneurons (VChIs) in mice barrel cortices we:
1) Developed PopRec, to obtain the unbiased morpheome of VChIs

Ca++ spikes are important for synaptic integration, bursting & plasticity in L5 pyramidal cells. This Week @SfNJournals, @amirdud@mikilon &al use modeling to show how excitatory, inhibitory & cholinergic input alter Ca++ spike shape & duration.

Excited to see my final work in the lab out in JNeurosci @SfNJournals! Through single-cell simulations, we explain the Ca2+ spike response to synaptic perturbations and ACh modulation. Special thanks to @mikilon, @Segev_Lab, @MichaelDoronII, @ELSCbrain: https://t.co/X0ImEHNBy7
Fascinated by Ca-spike in apical dendrites of layer 5 pyramidal cell? See our JNeurosci paper by @amirdud https://t.co/ulzJ4AXE8Q which started as a fun way to pass the first covid lockdown round. With @segevidan & @MichaelDoronII
A new preprint about how adding dendrites can potentially explain the phenomenon of multiple synaptic contacts between neurons in the brain:

Very excited to share new work with @AvivMezer in @ScienceMagazine! We show that glial cells in histological slices reveal local fiber orientations in the white matter. Article: https://t.co/HbxyoaWQjY. Code: https://t.co/1DEBDMCMPc.

@ZeroNoiseLab In the "spikes: exploring the neural code" book, there is a nice Fano-factor example (p. 52; adapted from Teich et al., 1990). They basically show that spiking activity in the cat's auditory nerve is no longer Poisson when the time window is large.
@raykurzweil wrote in 2014 that a single neuron is more complex than the entire cortex. So how complex is it? see our recent Neuron paper by @DavidBeniaguev and @Segev_Lab at: https://t.co/G2GBziJ1qT
Tune in to hear me talk about how we explore the involvement of 𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘆𝘁𝗲𝘀 in remote memory formation| Wed, April 7, 2021 @worldwideneuro@GoshenInbal@ELSCbrain https://t.co/57ZJzKjcQ4
In our paper Burst Control, we model the L5PC and analyze the conditions of synaptic activation in the apical and basal dendrites for burst generation. We found a novel burst-class, defined inhibitory control and correlated it with limiting plasticity.

What is the function of the cortical VIP/ChAT interneurons? Check out our new @JNeurochem review! A survey & property analysis covering genetics, physiology, structure, input/output & function.

What types of cells create memories? Exiting (!) findings show that we must explore beyond the neuronal horizon.

@YayonNadav@itamarlandau Sure, I would look at the methods section of Kuchibhotla et al. (2016) to see their modeling of ACh effect on cortex dynamics. Also, you can find interesting things at Ramaswamy et al. (2018). Hope this helps.
Excited to share our new work on automatic segmentation of the dorsal claustrum in high-resolution T1w MRI using the HCP dataset: https://t.co/VumSwygKTu. Work with @shaish0, @GalAtlan, @CitriAmi & @AvivMezer 1/n
