To make matters worse, the migration guide is incredibly sparse. It lists some potential alternatives, like Ditto, HiveMQ, and Ably — all of which could be acquired, deprecated, or go out of business far sooner than MongoDB, making them risky choices.
AWS AppSync seems like the only viable option with some long-term potential, but even there, their guidance on using it with Atlas revolves around the Data API, which is... you guessed it — also deprecated.
🚨 Big news: @MongoDB is discontinuing its Atlas Device Sync – think of it like Firebase's Firestore, but with MongoDB as the database.
If the user base was too small and the vertical wasn’t profitable, I get why they’d pull the plug. But honestly, this was some of the worst communication (see thread) I've seen in nearly a decade as an iOS developer. #MongoDB #iOSDev #TechNews
First off, the deprecation period for the Edge Server is only one month, while the other services get a year. That’s not much time if you're managing multiple apps for clients, as many developers have pointed out. Plus, they’ve already removed the Device Sync feature from their iOS SDK. Will they still address issues in the older v10 versions that included Device Sync? 🤷♂️ Who knows…

Check this out. Pretty cool.
We combined Kyverno and Tetragon to detect honeytokens.
After identifying the attacker, we block them with a cluster-wide network policy.
Entire thing below.
#cloudnative#cncf#cybersecurity
Together with two fabulous colleagues, Simon & Markus, we used Kyverno to automatically mount honeytokens in each container, and Tetragon to detect attempts to access those honeytokens. We also identify the attacker's IP address and block them cluster-wide with a network policy.
We built our own Twitter clone, but it isn't the thing you're expecting
@W3D3y and I will tell you why we did that and how we're using it @Dynatrace at the @SBA_Research meetup. RSVP now; we can't wait to see you there https://t.co/JAcJZAe4Oy
