@LessWasteLaura It's just so outrageous and criminal that unecessary destruction of a priceless rainforest. How was this ever allowed?! Why can't they just have it in a major city with excellent public transportation already in place? (and no private jets allowed).

@hantsconnect Would love to take the bus more frequently but it is too expensive especially as a family. £3 one-way for one adult to take a very short ride into Winchester centre (takes us about 7 minutes on bus). As a family it is cheaper to drive or take taxi - should be the opposite!

@ray_cun Interesting, I always thought the flashing lights were required. So with the signs drivers know they must stop to let pedestrians cross? This could be a way to convince our council to put one in that is less hassle/expense?

@BobFromAccounts Is that only true in some areas? In Winchester lots of people park in their front gardens or up on the pavement / verges. I tried to report it once but the council page says this cannot be reported! It ruins the grass, damages the trees, blocks the pavement for pedestrians.

@jonburkeUK I think this when we are walk to school, how few people we pass, as most are driving. So few casual interactions or kids bumping into neighbours & classmates to chat w/as they walk or cycle. Majority of people step out of their house & get straight into vehicles. Zero community.

@TallestTim @DeliceRetail Well done for following up on it! Keep at it! I get in touch with companies if I see their drivers sat with engines idling - drives me crazy, all that air pollution created just because they can't be bothered.

@activetraveleng @Chris_Boardman @LilianGreenwood Please come transform the school run in #Winchester! There are 3 secondaries, a huge 6th form & at least 10 primary schools all within a small area and rarely a cyclist to be seen. So much traffic at school run times. A perfect place to transform, an excellent case study! Help💚
