@wesostler @jasonfried That.. doesn’t make sense? If you put it in S&P, it didn’t go down? It would have been worth 25% more in 2 years. If you put it in bank, it would have been worth approx 10% less due to inflation.

They had closed their desk prior to cancelling the flight and didn’t answer the phone. We’re fortunate we had enough £ to buy alternative.

Response: "We wouldn't arrange accommodation or transport for journeys that are cancelled on a do not travel day."

@RobertMSterling @Airbnb @bchesky Airbnb guests trashed my house. Took a week for Airbnb to respond, and they wouldn’t cooperate with law enforcement. They did pay out a few months later but it was an awful experience so I stopped hosting.

@HangzhouExpo @RickDeVos Your snobbery is showing. I’ve been there and couldn’t even buy normal potatoes. Or a cucumber. It was insane. I understood first hand what food desert means. Best I could find was a pre-made salad with cheese and mayonnaise at x5 the price of homemade.

@RickDeVos Good for them. I tried to make a salad on holiday once and found myself in a 200,000 sqft supermarket with no fresh produce aisle. Utterly bizarre. Thought I was a lost idiot until staff told me they don’t sell fresh vegetables there. Then I went to Texas..

Packing a tent away, cleaning it etc will take what, 30 minutes?

Pay someone a reasonable wage and it becomes uneconomical compared to just buying brand new..
