The Trump administration's efforts to slash research funding have US graduate students, postdocs and other early-career scientists fearing for their careers. Some are considering changing jobs or leaving the country. Others say them might abandon research altogether.

Incredibly excited to share that next month I’ll be starting my postdoc in the lab of @JefBoeke at the NYU Langone Health Institute for Systems Genetics! 🧬🗽 I can’t wait to join this brilliant group. The pup is doing a great job adjusting to city life so far!
Every once in a while, we’re lucky enough to have a mentor who changes our lives for the better, and that’s what I’ve had in grad school. Infinitely grateful to have @fuxmanlab as a mentor, colleague, and friend.
Congrats @annaabananabell for a wonderful thesis defense! I can’t be any more proud of you and looking forward to what you’ll accomplish on your next chapter!
It turns out that most “alternative” transcription factor isoforms really are alternative!
It was an honor to contribute to this story and work with amazing postdocs @LukeLambs and @kaia_mattioli.
excited to share the first story from my postdoc today!! we profiled hundreds of transcription factor (TF) isoforms & found that two-thirds of alternative TF isos differ from their cognate reference iso in at least 1 key molecular activity

Most of our science PhD students will go on to careers that involve more than just science, and so we need to provide them experiences beyond just research.
A PhD should also be about learning communication, leadership, project management, and a whole set of professional skills.
We are very excited to see our paper published in @NatureComms led by the amazing Anna Berenson (@annaabananabell)! We introduce paired yeast one-hybrid (pY1H) assays to study cooperativity and antagonism between transcription factors (TFs). https://t.co/4W17LbY03o 1/6
The lab had a great time at the #FestivalOfGenomics last week! Thanks to @manoliskellis for coming to say hi and for an exceptional talk. Feeling inspired as I look ahead to a postdoc and starting my own lab some day. 🧬
