@AdrianoAguzzi While I agree that the applicant writes vaguely but the generic nature of the email wasn't something that was pointed out here. Might have been a better teachable moment to actually point that out, instead of focussing on the language. My two cents...

@AdrianoAguzzi As I've written similarly worded emails before ChatGPT for PhD positions, I find this post dismissive. There are whole lot of people from different cultural backgrounds that might be approaching application writing differently than you might be used to - including the adulation.
