@BBCNews Appalling behaviour, this violent hateful language displayed has no place here. Chanting “death to…” whatever group & broadcasting on our national tv channel should be treated with full force of the law. Disillusioned & brainwashed people, just like Nuremberg rallies

Hi All, we're now just a week away from our day in court to fight @UKLabour's Education Tax. We need your help now more than ever. The @Change petition update below shows how you can make a difference in this fight. Thank you for your support!

@ianmiles Vandalism and inciting hatred…..Will anything be done ? I doubt it…. These ppl are allowed to just keep on going with their hatred and vile propaganda
@darrengrimes Where are the studies on the generational trauma from such things, where are the reparations for being forced to work and live in such awful circumstances while making others rich. These people worked like this and lived in poverty. Their lives didn’t matter!
@darrengrimes These people had no privilege, worked for a pittance awful & dangerous mines. Some of the accidents suffered were horrific. A relative of mine, a young boy of 19, was decapitated when the mine shaft lift came down on top of him. Many others died very young from lung diseases.
📉 The economy actually shrank in September despite predicted growth.
🛢️ The only thing propping it up was oil & gas extraction - an industry that Labour seeks to attack.
🥀 This is just the start, as we face the cost of a Labour govt.
🚨 The average family will see council tax bills go up by more than £100 in April, the Government has announced.

The data is coming in, and the impact of #SchoolFeeVAT on state schools and children's education is undeniable, it's clear that the Govt has got it projections very wrong. Here's what we know:
ISC reported: A 1.7% drop in ind. school student numbers in Sept, including a 4.6% decline in Year 7 —around 10,500 fewer students on roll vs 2023.
➕
In-year transfer applications: 200 LAs have reported 3,000 in-year transfer applications, with 85 LAs still to respond, suggesting around 5,000 applicants.
➕
ISC report that 2,550 students have served notice to leave 900 independent schools in Jan, with the total across all 2,600 schools likely even higher.
🙈This early data does not bode well for schools, children—and this is just the tip of the iceberg as it should come as no surprise that: Parents will protect their children’s education, they will strain every sinew to avoid in-year transfers, which educators recommend avoiding, especially during GCSE/A-level years. Parents will wait for the right "jump-off point" (e.g., September, Year 3, Year 7, Year 12) for an unfunded state school place.
Given the early data, the Govt should expect medium-term displacement to be far greater than their projected 3000 in 2024/5 and longer term 35,000
The full impact won’t be clear for a few years, but by then, much damage will have already been done to children, state schools and our world leading independent school sector. Parents will seek a formal review of this pernicious tax and the Govt must be held to account each year. There is time to #FindABetterWay and @UKLabour should scrap #SchoolFeeVAT #EducationNotTax

Navigating school admissions system (again) has been incredibly frustrating. Been told ALL local schools full so we’re being offered religious school 5 miles away that “requires improvement,” because we’re forced to withdraw our daughter due to VAT policy on private education. 🧵
I hear this is happening all over the country. It's a disaster for these children, including many SEND children
Badly thought through policies that are more about politics than people always have devastating unintended consequences
Can someone please explain why my state pension age has moved from 65 to 68 because apparently they can’t afford to pay it early , yet someone turns up illegally on a dinghy and is in receipt of £41000 pounds of taxpayer’s money each year ?
