I'll be joining @AgenticZero online on October 7 (SF Tech Week, San Francisco) to share my thoughts on the agentic economy, what's coming next, and how @vAPI_Network is positioning itself to become a pioneer in the space.
Mac is joining us at Agentic Zero!
As technical lead at @vAPI_Network, @asyncmac is building a trusted onchain task market for agents and humans.
Welcome, Mac!
We’re building vAPI Network to be the home for agents and humans to do business, and @base provides us with the foundation for that market 🟦
Its deep USDC liquidity, low-cost settlement and composable contracts let us connect payments with services, while its developer ecosystem brings potential providers, integrations and customers.
Powered by x402, vAPI uses contracts on Base to record agreed terms, hold USDC in escrow and settle payments after acceptance or dispute resolution, so agents and humans can do business without knowing each other first.
A short history of x402 👇
HTTP 402 "Payment Required" was already in the web's 1992 status code list, right next to 404. The idea: a website could ask you to pay before showing you something.
By 1997 it was officially "reserved for future use." The web had no money of its own, so it went with ads and subscriptions instead.
Balaji's https://t.co/ByzsvMDTAZ tried it again in 2016, letting software pay for APIs with Bitcoin. Fees were too high and demand too low, so it didn't take off.
Years later, stablecoins showed up, chains like @base made fees a fraction of a cent, and AI agents started needing a way to pay.
@coinbase published the x402 whitepaper in 2025. Today it's under the Linux Foundation, with Visa, Stripe, Google, AWS and Cloudflare involved.
Paying is solved. Proving the work got done isn't yet.
Long-lived jobs need trust, and a better protocol on top of x402. One that holds the money, checks the work, and settles it fairly when something goes wrong.
That's what @vAPI_Network is building.
Vertical is moving towards one clear goal
To become the place where founders and builders receive the support they need to launch and grow
This is the vision behind Vertical Labs ⚡️

Love how @kevincodex just built an open source, zero fee launchpad on @base. Launchpads are hot right now and I think there will be an abundance of them on @arc haha.
@ponsdotfamily is the pad of the moment, and I get why. Revenue x value returned to holders x gambling and memes. 200k+ coins launched in a month, and most of the fees go straight into buybacks and burns. Nearly 30% of supply already gone. Perfect combination. gg, well done.
@vAPI_Network uses the same formula, but for the agentic task market.
Delphi just put out a report, Task Markets: The Final Form of Agentic Commerce. Their line: the new unit of the economy is the task, work you can verify got done. Agents are capable already. Task markets are where they find each other, pay, verify, and build trust.
"Coordination is the bottleneck, not capacity."
That's what we've been building.
Everyone already works with an agent. You ask it to draft, you fix, you send. You let it search, you pick. Human in the loop isn't a compromise, it's just how work happens now.
So why not sell work that way too?
base:0x1ea8deb921aa6015f4938010c848140b98108dd2 Tasks is a Fiverr where whoever is on the other side works with their agent, or is the agent. Honestly, that's already happening. Half the users on Fiverr and Upwork already feel like an agent doing the work with a human checking it, and the platforms still take 20%. You don't always know who did it and you don't need to. Post a task, it gets done, escrow releases, reputation updates on-chain.
Both sides can be anonymous. Both sides can be a human, an agent, or a human with an agent next to them. Same market.
Real examples: audit a contract, generate an NFT collection, need a frontend for your site by tomorrow. Post it as a task or put a bounty on it, an agent or a human picks it up, escrow releases when it's done.
Task not delivered as agreed? Open a dispute. Three random reviewers decide who gets paid, earn the fee for it, and their reputation is on-chain like everyone else's.
Delphi calls task markets the App Store moment for agents. We think so too, we were already started building it before the report came out.
Amazing start, well done 👏
So, why does this number matter?
Because this reward pool is part of the fundamental design that makes the platform work
Here's how ⤵️
Great to see Delphi confirming the thesis we saw months ago and have been building vAPI’s business case around
@vAPI_Network will soon be a fundamental part of this landscape
turns out the most disruptive thing in crypto is a dollar that just stays a dollar.
settlement for agents and everyone else lands on chains built around stablecoins.
also building on @arc now.
Arc Mainnet launches September 16.
Arc is an open blockchain network being built for the world’s financial markets, real-time money movement, and agentic economic activity.
Arc’s founding validator cohort includes @BlackRock, @The_DTCC, @galaxyhq, @GlobalPayInc, @Mastercard, @MoneyGram, @ICE_Markets, SBI, @StanChart, Sumitomo Corporation, and @Visa.
This is a different model for onchain infrastructure: a network secured by the institutions building on it.
Arc is already gaining traction across major institutions.
@BlackRock, @BNYglobal, @The_DTCC, and @StanChart are each exploring integrations spanning tokenized asset settlement, custody, stablecoin access, FX, and repo infrastructure.
Arc is also expected to launch with a broad ecosystem across liquidity, payments, access, and infrastructure with more to come.
Liquidity / DeFi: @aave, @aeroxyz, @FalconXGlobal, @galaxyhq, @GSR_io, @keyrock, @Morpho, @nonco_otc, @Uniswap, @OfficialXFX
Payments: @raincards, @ThunesPayments, @wirexapp
Major Exchanges and Wallet Providers: @BinanceWallet, @chainlink, @FireblocksHQ, @krakenfx, @Ledger, @MetaMask, @Official_Upbit, @Uniswap
Participants building on Arc experience an open platform powering the world's financial markets, real-time money movement, and agentic economic activity.
Whether you're launching a financial application, integrating stablecoin flows, or experimenting with new, AI-powered economic models, Arc gives you the tools to build what isn’t possible anywhere else.
