@FeverPotomac @DCWard7teacher Now can you compare 3 things: short period (less than 10 days) of virtual instruction, a covid+ teacher in the classroom due to lack of leave, students with a sub and work packets for 10 days. Also, there are no subs, so a rotating cast of anyone in the school.

@LisaDTRice @DCWard7teacher @WTUTeacher No one is standing up for the teachers. WTU leadership was completely useless, and you couldn't even solve it for yourself (I tried) because no one will pick up the phone or ever call you back.

Why isn't this just straight up illegal? Why isn't the WTU publicizing this along with everything else about the contract? Obviously DCPS is acting in bad faith on EVERYTHING.

@RackAndRhun @BudgerigarBlgr @tolkienprof Not really. Tolkien had plenty of conflicts between races. The strength, and the theme, came once they overcame the prejudices that divided them. So ROP starting with conflict between peoples is sort of the point, and then you built to strength by coming together.

@shelley212 @FlorenceOfLabia Also, there are plenty of teachers who DON'T understand that an IEP overrides their policies. As a special Education teacher, I have most certainly dealt with teachers now don't understand that an IEP overrules their policies. I have to deal with it year after year.

I am furious that the chancellor didn't have enough respect for his staff to tell us about a major change in policy during the mandatory all staff meeting THE SAME MORNING as the announcement.

@monabenach @betsyjwolf But the tests WEREN'T delayed. My school had the results of Monday symptomatic Tuesday morning, but the principal wasn't allowed to release the numbers until Wednesday afternoon. There was no sensible reason to wait.

@jrhp2016 @DCPSChancellor Maybe it wasn't intentional, but if not, then it was gross incompetence to the point of willful disregard for the health, safety, and mental stability of DCPS teachers, students, and families.

@DCPSCovidCases I'm wondering if the plan is to just have everyone at the school in quarantine, so that they don't need to SAY that the school is in virtual, but they really are. Saving face politically, with the same result, and WAY more people getting sick.

@Kmreid7 @DCPSCovidCases Better than my principal. He said that if we left because we were a vaccinated close contact, we would be AWOL and leave without pay. Had to actually show symptoms to get leave.

@jeangra99179111 @DCPSChancellor What the district isn't prioritizing is finding substitutes, or ordering central office staff to cover classes. There are a certain number of adults you need in the building to cover the amount of kids. That is the issue, and it's on leadership to fix it.
