@OsegueraAguilar @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I agree, they should support rather than disappointed students, I have found myself in this situation many times. Student athletes are sometimes talked out of pursuing majors they want because of time conflicts and other issues. Advisors should be advocates for their students!
@virgil_mikhaila @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar While it is great to be recognized for athletic achievements, this is not what student athletes of color constantly want to be recognized for. They are STUDENT-athletes. Students first.
@AdrianR08017265@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar The NCAA repeatedly proves themselves to be a money hungry organization and will do anything they can to pay as much little as possible. Of course any organization would do so but this organization claims to help students.
@andreasujeyA1 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I agree with you, students do not need to be worrying about their eligibility due to transferring on top of their academics. Students do not need a whole year to adapt to the new environment when everything was already new to them at their first institute.
@KPark45150160@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar TBI's such as CTE needs to be talked about more. It seems like concussions are a part of the sport but they shouldn't be. Brain injuries are a serious, and can lead to life long complications.
@Valerie10144425@MissNallely @rabea_qamar I really liked the image you chose with your post. It really says a lot. Equality and equity are definitely 2 different things and it seems like the Title IX doesn't understand that.
@AbaekobeJ@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar it is truly sad! My best friend in high school was so happy to finally sign her NLI and later on in her collegiate career she found herself having issues with her contract due to injury.
@SadieChaffee @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely In my initial post I mentioned that I thought it was fair that some other students are being paid for their talents because it is possibly their major. I have to change my opinion because athletes spend so much of their time in their sport just as others do studying their major.
@jvela030 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely@helloJuJudy I agree, I think student athletes need to be better compensated for their work. I suggested that more scholarships be available and that they receive help with food. Many student athletes do not have time to work and therefore, go hungry.
