This is exactly right.
Adversarial legalism is the driver of much of our stagnation & bureaucratization.
Which makes reforming judicial review critical to improving government efficiency.
It's one thing to ensure economic resilience from China, our biggest geopolitical rival. It's another to build an economic moat around the US that excludes even our closest allies for no strategic reason.
Someone take Brandon McGinley’s @brandonmcg latest column about the US Steel $X situation and Martin Luther style hammer it with a nail on to the Oval Office door and that of Senator Fetterman

I will split the difference with Vivek: The reason that Indians and other successful minorities in the US succeed is by blending the culture of hard work and familial dedication with the American spirit of dynamism born from the founders and the frontier spirit
Pure Asian culture encourages rote memorization, conformity, and leads to misery with little innovation. Pure (modern) western culture valorizes "having a good time" over working hard and inevitably is dominated by hedonism
The culture I want to venerate is the American culture which beat the Axis powers in WW2. It had important institutional checks against hedonism, encouraged hard work AND also heavily prioritized athletics, leadership, and social skills
The best way to recreate that culture (IMO) is an immigration moratorium as we did in the early 1900s. We must hash out our differences, decide intentionally what culture we want for our children, and end racial balkanization which is eating us from within. We also need to prioritize education/opportunity for native born citizens instead of seeing workers as individual economic units
This will inevitably clash with purely capitalist interests (as it did in the 1900s) but is important nonetheless for societal cohesion and strength. Too many H1B arguments I see today are just the inverse of leftist justifications for mass illegal immigration.
I'll end with a plea to Americans of Indian descent. Reject the growing calls for Indian identity politics or DEI/Wokeness by another name and instead embrace the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt:
"There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all. This is just as true of the man who puts “native” before the hyphen as of the man who puts German or Irish or English or French before the hyphen. Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul. Our allegiance must be purely to the United States. We must unsparingly condemn any man who holds any other allegiance. But if he is heartily and singly loyal to this Republic, then no matter where he was born, he is just as good an American as anyone else."
👀Finland/Estonian undersea cable has been cut on Christmas. The Estlink Two is 1 of 2 cables connecting the Baltic power grid to Finland.🇨🇳ship Xin Xin Tiang crossed the cable at noon local time. This is the third time that a Chinese ship is suspected of involvement in cable cut
The COVID era Paycheck Protection Program was defrauded at an incredible scale. People received PPP loans for total nonsense at stunning rates.
Thread of funny claims.

The House released their 500+ page report on the COVID-19 pandemic.
key findings:
1. COVID-19 likely originated from a lab-related incident in Wuhan, linked to gain-of-function research funded with U.S. taxpayer dollars.
2. Over $200B in relief funds lost to fraud, with criminals exploiting weak oversight.
3. Prolonged lockdowns and arbitrary mandates caused severe harm—economic devastation, mental health crises, and historic learning loss—while lacking robust scientific support.
4. Policies ignored natural immunity, pushing mandates that eroded trust and harmed public perception of science.
5. WHO and CDC compromised by political interference, offering inconsistent, unscientific guidance that fueled public distrust.
6. Key players, including federal agencies and Cuomo’s administration, actively obstructed oversight efforts and hid critical evidence.
