To my genetics/genomics friends in Australia: the @OurDNA_program Symposium will be in Sydney on 14 August, just before @HGSAAustralasia. Learn more about inclusive recruitment for genomics and get a preview of the OurDNA variant browser! https://t.co/YVWdA9IUP7
@iFECCA@NCIG2013 Last up for today is Chris Richards from the Centre for Population Genomics describing progress on the @OurDNA_program, which is currently recruiting 10,000 individuals from genomically under-represented Australian communities.
@iFECCA Next up is Alex Brown from @NCIG2013 discussing the massive health inequities facing Indigenous Australians, and the need to build approaches for Indigenous genomics that maintain data sovereignty and ensure real benefit to communities.
Our second keynote is Mary Ann Geronimo, CEO of @iFECCA, Australia’s peak body advocating for diverse communities, discussing Australia’s unique human diversity and the impact of research under-representation on healthcare outcomes.
What a delight to be kicking off our inaugural @OurDNA_program symposium in Melbourne with a keynote from @HeidiRehm discussing global collaborative networks underpinning genomic medicine. Thanks to @AusGenomics and @GA4GH for making this day possible!
Attended an amazing presentation by Gemma Figtree and the funder Amanda Vrselija @FranklinWomen event tonight, and I was fortunate to join in online and understand how engagement is crucial in having commercial grant success #FWFunding
