“Just Stop”.
“If you paid any attention at all...”
This is how @BrianKavanaghNY speaks to his constituents trying to get answers.
Video #2 from recent 6th Precinct Community Council meeting.
Village residents are fed up with inaction from elected officials who refuse to address adequately the significant deterioration of the neighborhood from open air drug use and dealing, rampant shoplifting and an increase in crime and lawlessness.
As you will see from this video residents have had enough, and they want answers.
@NYSenateDems brought us the bad laws that have led to this crisis all over NYC, and it’s up to them to fix the laws.
Instead, their representatives @BrianKavanaghNY and @bradhoylman are all about deflection and excuses and pandering to the smallest but loudest voices, their primary voters.
In this clip Kavanaugh is asked a simple question: Did you or did you not support the changes to the cash bail laws?
These laws, enacted as part of the budgeting process in Albany, are the most radical no cash bail laws in the country. NY’s laws go further than other states, and even the federal system. Judges cannot consider whether an individual accused of a crime is “dangerous” before returning them to the streets. These laws have led to a “catch and release “ problem where repeat offenders and dangerous individuals are returned within hours to the streets after being arrested. These laws, along with changes to “discovery” laws that have buried the police and DA in paperwork, have made ensuring public safety and keeping everyone safe more and more difficult, complex and risky for everyone but the criminal. They did not craft a focused law to address problems with the existing system, they simply “threw the baby out with the bath water.”
Is Kavanaugh condescending? Unresponsive? Uneducated about the actual issues and bereft of any actual solutions? Obstinate? Unwilling to actually hear his constituents valid concerns?
You be the judge.

Last night’s town hall on e-bike violence was powerful. This is a grassroots cause, not some paid activists getting in the way of street safety.
We can’t walk the streets safely anymore and need action now!
@NYSEDNews Can someone explain why my 5th Grade daughter who took the ELAs yesterday said 3 out of the 4 passages had already been reviewed and graded in her class? That certainly isn't a "test" is it?
