Always looking for inspiration.
Architect of tech but don't ask me to build them.

It's probably worth considering social media to be like a metropolis.
If the authorities said "it's too hard to deal with crime and anti-social behaviour, everyone should just get along together, neighbours can sort out their own disputes", the world would be in chaos.
The Director of the UK’s largest spy agency, GCHQ, Anne Keast-Butler has revealed in her inaugural annual speech that: ‘new intelligence shows almost half a million Russian soldiers have now been killed since the start of the fullscale invasion of Ukraine in 2022’.
@smlight_tech
Is your WLED flashing tool going to get WLED 16 support?
Or can you release the build files for the SLWF-09? I found the stock build didn't work well.
I've a silly idea.
CXL is good for increasing RAM on servers, but given the limited speeds of PCIe, it seems flawed to bind it to expensive DDR5.
CXL Memory expanders should be DDR4 rather than DDR5. Also, they should be at least four channels, if not more.
@TSReader noticed your website has been down since late 2024.
Wanted to say it's a loss, I haven't needed TSreader for a while, but I was just thinking about it while looking at a project and I was sad to see the website missing.
Hope you're okay.
@real_IcePhase@brankopetric00 Last year I built 1.5Tb/sec of CDN capacity.
I was involved in the delivery of probably over 20,000 live event streams.
Cloudflare needs to step up an accept that they're part of the problem and engage with solutions, not shrug their shoulders.
@teflocarbon@brankopetric00 I once worked on a live event, previously it had been shown by a competitor as an expensive PPV.
We took over, upgraded the quality and made it available for free to anyone who registered.
That night we had ~300,000 pirate streams taken down.
It's all just excuses.
@teflocarbon@brankopetric00 1. Streaming isn't profitable, it's really expensive, most companies doing it struggle. There are public financials that show that.
2. DRM is among the most reliable services, >95% of viewing time is on TVs and they work fine.
3. All apps crash, inc malware laden pirate apps.
@teflocarbon@brankopetric00 Live sports streaming has regularly been linked to organised crime, hacking, money laundering, drugs and even people trafficking.
But people dismiss this as scare tactics to comfort themselves that it's harmless fun.
@teflocarbon@brankopetric00 The majority of CDN providers recognise that enabling illegal activities is not good business. When faced with evidence of infringement they stop it.
People are far too casual and forgiving of piracy because they view it as harmless.
@real_IcePhase@brankopetric00 Until last year I was responsible for technical measures in anti-piracy for one of the largest streaming platforms in the world.
I am not ignorant as you assert.
I don't defend the blocking, I say that Cloudflare is a significant part of the problem and they don't help themslves.
His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (@Pontifex), I condemn the insult to Your Excellency on behalf of the great nation of Iran, and declare that the desecration of Jesus, the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable to any free person. I wish you glory by Allah.
Magyar on Ukraine 🇭🇺🇺🇦:
"Everyone in Hungary knows that Ukraine is a victim of this war and no one should tell them under what conditions they should enter a peace or sign a peace treaty. We cannot tell any country to give up their territory.
And this is what the Fidesz politicians said. Then I would like to ask them: What would you do if Russia attacked Hungary? Which Hungarian counties would you be willing to give up?
Ukraine should receive security guarantees and territorial guarantees that can be observed and kept. Ukraine, under the Budapest Memorandum, gave up its nuclear arsenal for guarantees, but those guarantees were violated repeatedly by Russia."🔚
This is a good starting point. Hopefully, the relationship between our countries can be mended from here. I'm really looking forward to having sane neighbors.
@adamdangelo it's really sad that you've let Quora fall so far and become such an SEO spammer paradise.
That's without me addressing the child pornography and romance scammers that are prolific on the site.
It used to be good, now I just get bombarded with crap.
@brankopetric00 When Cloudflare fails to engage with tackling behaviours which are illegal then they face the consequences. Their decisions affect their customers.
Many people trivialise piracy, but streaming isn't a particularly profitable business, and piracy is a big problem.
@brankopetric00 I don't endorse the blocking measures.
But Cloudflare is the worse CDN for piracy. The majority of all piracy websites are behind Cloudflare and when content providers raise concerns about their content being stolen via Cloudflare they get a shoulder shrug from Cloudflare.
Just a reminder: in 1982, when Great Britain was attacked by Argentina, starting the Falklands War, the United States did not come to their aid because the Falklands are not in the North Atlantic and the British did not bitch about it.
In 1956, when the French and British attacked Egypt, causing the Suez Crisis, despite the fact that France and Great Britain are in NATO, the United States not only refused to assist, but went to the United Nations to condemn them for attacking Egypt.
In 2019, when Turkey decided to attack Syria, the Trump administration had the Pentagon send out an official notice that they did not support the campaign and would not send troops.
So kindly shut the fuck up, everyone in the White House.
