@comadad@TfL@unitetheunion A driver at my garage told my manager he needs to be furloughed because his wife has a condition. He was then told to change jobs or stay somewhere else during pandemic. Millage over lives...
78 TfL workers have tragically died from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. 13 of those worked on Tube and rail trains, at least 42 were bus drivers. When is someone going to step in and stop extended hrs of work
@comadad@SadiqKhan@TfL@BBCTomEdwards@unitetheunion
@EndUKLockdown1 @uklockdown@TfL@BTP@SadiqKhan@BBCTomEdwards@comadad If you sneeze then it stops on the face shield. I also seen a lady wearing like a plastic shield over her nose and mouth. She had an exempt badge on. Thought that looked pretty kl...
Masks and face shields stop things coming out, won't save you breathing it in
@EndUKLockdown1 @uklockdown@TfL@BTP@SadiqKhan@BBCTomEdwards@comadad Actually there is an alternative, face shields. I'm one of the except but I still wear a mask. Plus a lot of people exploit this. During the war and Spanish flu people wore masks even if they had illnesses. Personally if u can't wear a mask, wear a face shield.
Totally unacceptable.
Bus drivers should not be treated like this.
@tfl@SadiqKhan
The issues, risks and solutions are known.
Bus drivers should not be at risk of dying for going to work.
Too late
Too litle
Too stupid to learn????
@BBCTomEdwards 2 more today in my garage. Lack of any support and the fact that duties with 4 hour breaks are forcing us to sit around the garage... We already are begging our garage to issue out straight through jobs just so we don't sit around the garage
@BBCTomEdwards No one checks buses. I have been driving through this pandemic and not once my bus has been checked. Yes I drive through busy areas in central. I got spat on 3 times already just because I asked them to put their mask on. 2 death in my garage now.More around London. Tfl dnt care
From follower: I'm too tired to continue driving. My time on duty is just over 11hr. I'm on my 6th day and still 1 day to go. Spoke to my manager and I will be getting a disciplinary for going sick on duty
@unitetheunion when are we going to reduce those hours?
@TfL@comadad
Another message from the same user. "When I confronted my area manager about the hours, she laughed and said, it's not cost effective and will cost the company more money to shorten the duties"
Sorry but that makes my blood boil 🤬
11.5hrs @ work for 7 days in a row, Why is @TfL and @SadiqKhan allowing this. Though u r fighting fatigue. I have a life outside of work. With 2 kids my day is at least 15hrs. Hardly any time 2 sleep. I love my job, but private companies are making it difficult to enjoy @comadad
@peterbrownbarra@BCCletts@TfL@SadiqKhan@comadad True. But they get around it by just giving us longer breaks in duties. My duty has a 2hr break. Why... I'm just sitting around the garage. That's not resting. Union does nothing about it because it's within the driving regulations. Our ticket machines record driving hours.
@peterbrownbarra@BCCletts@TfL@SadiqKhan@comadad I agree... But the way they will explain "you're only working 5 days in a week". They fail to explain that you will be working 7 days straight. But according to them, only 5 days and 2 days in a new week. That's how they can get around it.
