California Ecology & Conservation, immersive science training for students from across the UC system, taught entirely in the field at the UC Natural Reserves
A @netflix series I consistently enjoy and appreciate is "Explained" by @vox. 18-minute beautifully produced episodes on everything from the racial wealth gap and the world's water crisis to tattoos and astrology. Killer theme song, too.
How I came to appreciate that science is all about relationships and other insights on the value of nature. Thanks @TonyLoyd for the great questions and a chance to share my work with the @NatCapProject and @UMNIonE. https://t.co/9Q7V7HTFBx

Spectacular drone video of two Fin Whales lunge-feeding on surface krill filmed earlier this month, also off the coast of Newport Beach, California. Three more of these endangered whales, who are the second largest animals in the world, were spotted in the same waters yesterday.

@dluis_hernandez@Eco_Carls It looks cold! Don't worry - there's always a place for you out here in California, even if just for a quick visit to the course at one of our epic natural reserves...
