Nancy Clark reposted this, and I love it because it shows how carbs are important! I am curious to see how carbs benefit other athletes as well. @beh353#beh353
Soccer athletes can delay fatigue by fueling with carbohydrates before & during games. Being well-fueled optimizes training sessions that enhance soccer skills. If you don't know what or when to eat, meet with a sports dietitian! #OpenAccess

I will share the value of all nutrient groups to my patients, encouraging them to eat a balanced diet. I also now feel confident discerning what information is credible, and will only pass factual information to my patients. @beh353#beh353
To live a full life without a full belly is difficult. This vending machine—a #GivingMachine—is a clever way to offer gifts that nourish the receiver and the giver. @MarciRD#UNWorldFoodProgram

@GiannaMCPHS @beh353 Taking an extra moment to check if there is even a source for a claim is something so important we share to our generation!! @beh353#beh353
Happy (almost) Thanksgiving!! I always look forward to the cranberry sauce and it is super easy to make! I have started making it for my family instead of buying canned and it is a game changer!! #beh353@beh353 https://t.co/NgLBCt5uW9
It is important to choose foods that help your body out! It’s not about just “oil” it’s about the type! When cooking there is little change in taste between refined seed oils and an oil like olive oil, but your body is impacted very differently! @beh353#beh353
Refined 'Vegetable Oils’ or 'Seed Oils' such as corn, vegetable, canola & soy, have many issues, namely they create body-wide inflammation, heart disease & other poor health conditions.
Also, there are NO vegetables in these oils (corn is a grain).
👉 These 'vegetable' oils are particularly hazardous in cooking, as they produce toxic oxidation compounds like cyclic aldehydes when heated. They are highly processed and refined. Soy, canola, & cottonseed were not originally manufactured for human consumption.
Choose instead: olive, avocado, coconut, butter, tallow, ghee, macadamia nut oils.
For more information on these oils, check out Dr. Cate Shanahan. https://t.co/1NFPgUmarD
This was exactly what I would want as a parent! Reputable source, broken down into specific categories of exactly what age needs what! More detail is given in the paragraphs before the table if curious what the nutrient’s purpose is! @beh353#beh353

@scottyyuen @beh353 Hi Scotty! I really appreciate how you picked an article that is specific and explains the reason for each recommendation, that is a quick way to help a child’s guardian to encourage healthy eating! @beh353#beh353
Nancy Clark reposted this and with it starting to be cold and flu season I had to share! Help your body out with the nutrients it needs to thrive. @beh353#beh353
In fruits and vegetables, purple is often a sign of nutrients called anthocyanins -- they help protect your cells from damage that can lead to illness and disease. Learn other health benefits you'll get from purple foods. https://t.co/cjVIHedwV2
The article emphasizes the need to look at a persons health habits, not their size to determine if they are taking care of their bodies. Diets regularly cause more harm than help, and there are many thin looking people with unhealthy diets! Be aware of your bias! #beh353@beh353
@nclarkrd Carbs are brain food! This information is something that is not newly discovered and yet not well known, and must be spread to help athletes of all levels fuel their bodies! @beh353#beh353

@ashleycc406@beh353 This is so upsetting, because so many factors that are out of a child’s control determines how they are set up for the future. This is why it’s so important to have healthy food in schools! @beh353#beh353
Bill Maher claimed no one “comes out of the womb” obese, but oftentimes obesity is linked directly to a gene defect which invalidates his statement! Always be mindful and don’t make assumptions without knowing the facts @beh353#beh353
Nancy Clark reposted this and I found it facilitating! Oftentimes I seem my food choices change when I am stressed but I didn’t know stress could also be changing my gut! @beh353#beh353
Your gut and your brain talk back and forth to each other, connecting through millions of nerve cells. Scientists have linked certain changes in the gut microbiome to stress, depression, and anxiety. https://t.co/Q8FUUQWGSd
“Lack of motivation to eat healthily” is real! I am fortunate to have a fast metabolism so externally I see little (or no) difference when I eat nutritious vs unhealthy food. It’s hard to pick whole foods that will support my body long term! #beh353@beh353
@dylanle7830@beh353 I love vitamin C! It is so cool that we know how it can help our body, and it is important we consistently get the right amount! @beh353#beh353
