After hearing first hand from @bonifacemwangi of the harrowing experience that he and @AAgather went through at the hands of the coward Tanzanian security agents, I am deeply concerned about @AAgather’s well being.
At one point, the cowardly torturers were discussing how to rape Agather. Shortly after, Bonnie and Agather were separated. That was early Tuesday morning, 20th May 2025.
While we get Bonnie the medical attention he needs, more focus should now be put on finding Agather. Her wellbeing is of utmost importance.

So far, no media house has ably relayed the torture/ beatings that counsel Eron was subjected to, at some point, we even thought the brutal masked armed beasts clad in military fatigue had killed Eron, yes the torture was that lethal and extreme. When we visited Eron in prison yesterday, he complained that the air he breathes out smells like blood, could it be that he bled internally?
One of the things that the legal team and us the activists that need to urgently demand is an independent trusted medical examination on Eron.
Eron is supposed to be at some well equipped hospital receiving treatment and not in a maximum prison.

The idiots reclaiming swamps on the Kla expressway are not only killing the environment but making the public road itself unusable - it has started to flood on some sections where swamps were settled in by companies.
@nemaug surely what are you guys doing? SHAME!
Dr. Charles Lule was in my same PCB Class in HSC. He made it to Medical school while I couldn't, one of those missed opportunities I reminisce about my life, but that's another story.
Dr. Charles, together with one Prof. Ocama, were brilliant classmates in my class.
I knew they would go far in their medical careers, and I was right.
Nevertheless, we went on with our lives, and for 36 years, I did not know what happened to them until this week.
In the week, Dr @rkalyes1 reported that Prof. Ocama was elected President Elect of the Association of Africa and Middle East Association of Gastroenterology AMAGE in Cairo. I was like Woah! I knew it!
But in a sudden twist, the week also gave me sad knews of Dr. Charles Lule. In a GoFundMe page forwarded to me, I saw a name, and a face that got me thinking; I KNOW THIS GUY!
Wasn't this guy my Classmate? Wasn't this guy a Doctor?
So I read on. And this -below, was what was posted.
"Hello, friends, family, and kind strangers,
We are reaching out to share the story of Charles Lule, who has been bravely battling Parkinson's Disease (PD) for the past four years. As a devoted father to two adult daughters—one of whom is still in college—Charles has always been a pillar of strength and support for our family.
Before his diagnosis, Charles dedicated over 25 years of his career to providing healthcare for others, as a physician scientist, with 15 years of those in intra-operative neuro-monitoring. His passion for helping others and advancing medical science was evident in every aspect of his work.
Even after his diagnosis, he continued to work for two years, pushing through the challenges that PD presented, until the disease became too aggressive to manage.
Today, Parkinson's has significantly affected his motor function. He struggles to walk independently due to severe weakness in both his upper and lower limbs, with the right side of his body experiencing debilitating tremors.
Additionally, he now faces extended periods of severe muscle spasms and deep neuro pain, which greatly impact his quality of life.
He has developed significant tolerance to the medications and experiences long repeated off periods, during which his symptoms are intense.
Our Current Situation:
To ensure Charles receives the care he needs, we have hired assistance to help him with activities of daily living (ADLs), manage his pain, and ensure he takes his medications on time.
However, the costs associated with his care are mounting, and it has become increasingly difficult for our family to manage." - End.
Well, I have never done this before, but I am asking you to put Dr. Charles Lule in your prayers, and share the gofund me page among wellwishers.
If you can place a donation, I am sure the organizers will appreciate your help.
Dr. Charles Lule dedicated his life to service, to provide health to others. In his hour of need, I know you can support him too.
Just publicizing this (retweets, sharing) shall be a great honor.

Am not sure I understand this #activism vs who takes the credit phenomenon.
Has it always been like this? It’s really strange hearing younger activists fight and question other actors in civil society space based on… “they stole the idea” … “they hijacked this” etc etc.
When did activism become so transactional? Who cares who takes credit for what? I think part of the challenge the drive to put an “entrepreneurial model” to everything — an exhibition against corruption in parliament becomes a project, a garbage exhibition becomes an idea perceived as an incubator project!
If the ideas are transactional- then the fights too take on a pecuniary nature. Who received what money and surely they benefited as individuals! Otherwise why did they start this in the first place? There’s the expectation that there’s a “return of investment” —- and talk about “tangible results”
You are doing complex systems change work and after a couple of weeks of making noise you expect “tangible results” - are you out of your mind?? 🤦♂️ How long do you think it’s taken to entrench corruption (as a norm and in practice) that we see across government systems? Again— it’s that idea ==> incubation ==> test/transition ==> scale up mindset applied on social phenomena!
An opportunity to learn all around for those that really want to make change possible — there is no shortcut to these things. Buckle up, and have the humility to understand that you will not always know or find answers to complex social problems. You do your part — chip away, and let others do what they can. Collective solutions to collective challenges.
