@Stef_M_Law@EddieComeaux@kcasey050@UCLALawReview@DrUJayakumar The ivy ligue is very bais and they essentially prefer to accept white rich individuals because they like seeing that image better. White, rich and prestige’s individuals are preferred than individual of color. Why can’t all individual be treated for what they know that’s unjust.
@Destinyd050@TA_ED50 Hello Destiny, I agree with you that this is an issue for the institution and the athletic team. There can be an impact in the racial climate. Do we believe there is a real solution to this or anything that can be done to alter from this occurring? @KatryaLy#UCR50
It’s very unfortunate to hear and see that a lot of non- privileged individuals are being put to the side in athletic and educational acceptance and treatment. White’s are seen as superior so these disadvantages that people of color have,white people do not. #ucr50@KatryaLy
@amaci060@abhornUCRedu I agree with you that college athletes should be allowed to use there own name, image, and ect. It’s unfair to district them from promoting themselves it seems like they don’t want them to be discovered or get other opportunities #UCR50@KatryaLy
Why is it that NCAA does not allow the athletes to use there image to promote? Technically the students are whom make the team what it is and why people support. I think this is unfair because it does not bring attention to the athletes individually but the team.#ucr50@KatryaLy
@zcta_ly Hello Zaina,
You made me think a little more as to why title IX was placed is it really for the equality of the athletes. Or is it just put in place to make institutions look like they are doing something about the inequality because they have been called out. #UCR50@KatryaLy
Title IX have made some improvement for women athletics.I think the only thing that it has done is increase the number of women athletic. It hasn’t forced equality.NCAA try’s to push it I don’t think they supports equality because it brings some male teams down #ucr50@KatryaLy
@jmart758@TA_ED50 Hello,
Yes I agree that women are not given the recognition or uplift that they deserve. I ask myself what can we do to to bring recognition to these great women athletes ? @KatryaLy#ucr50
There is a need for the college athletic team and administrators to be more diverse. It is important to be able to show diversity present within sports.What can we do to promote diversity in sports or who can help promote more diversity in college teams?#ucr50@KatryaLy
@Daniella0116@abhornUCRedu I agree, that university’s shouldn’t be so worried about there reputation. They should be worried and try to find solutions or resources to help there athletes deal with stress/hard https://t.co/hfCMy5DvDv’s can do more for students but they don’t #UCR50@KatryaLy
It sucks to see/hear that these student athletes are judged by the people around them.People who are suppose to respect them/motivate you like professors and family they doubt you.They shouldn’t do that because they should acknowledge they they go thru stress.#ucr50@KatryaLy
@ninatraaann@abhornUCRedu I agree with you that college athletes are made to believe that there priority is to win the game but where is it said that they should also prioritize there academics.They are not really expected to keep up,athletes are expected to do minimum for there academics.#UCR50@KatryaLy
I know that the NCAA association has an expected GPA for student athletes.Why is the required GPA for athletic student low to be able to be a part of the team?I understand that they are athletes but there education should be prioritized they should expect more.#ucr50@KatryaLy
@izyyybel01@TA_ED50 I believe that professor should be getting paid more rather than coaches.I just think that professor have a lot more responsibilities in their hands than coaches. Student athlete’s are the ones who bring the views so coches shouldn’t be praised.
To add on to my last post I think it’s unfair because the coaches get paid more but the people who put in the work are the student athletes. #ucr50@KatryaLy
Based on this weeks reading I find it very unfair that college coaches are getting paid a lot more than any other workers in the school system. It makes more sense to pay professor more because they help the students succeed.Why is pay rate unevenly distributed? #ucr50@KatryaLy
@seancaster24 I believe that team captains contribute a lot to the success of the program. They play a big role in the progression of the program and have it be effective. They are leaders so they must motivate and help improve together to be successful. #ucr50@KatryaLy
@gomezzkg@KatryaLy I agree with your statement that it seems as if college sports are more likely to receive a larger sum than what academic units get. I believe that it is unfair for the students who attended for the academics and I think this should be the priority to be funded. #ucr50@katryaLy
