@marvXRPmartin@ZachCav@SportingTrib You got it backwards. Leo's agents deliberately kicked the can down the road to wait for values to climb higher. They said they didn't plan to sign anything until Bedard was signed first.
@PjLaird924@DLGoodkind@JoeViller@hammer1759@NHLRumourReport Lol Zegras had the same amount of points as Carlsson. This contract is definitely going to be used by his agent in arbitration, especially considering the offer came from his own team. Zegras will be awarded somewhere in the $13-15mil range now.
@jrh002DFS Maybe he should be fired. But you're wrong about Zellweger being the better player. Also, Verbeek has been 100% correct on all previous RFAs that he played hardball with.
@ACTAnalysis@DucksDaily93 I'm not sure he should be fired either. Lots of people are mad that he's played hardball with RFAs, but he's turned out to be correct about all of them so far. Zegras, Drysdale, and MacT all had bad seasons immediately after signing and they were still overpaid.
@vdizzle94@MarcelAndRogie It sounds like USSF filed their request for review long before the president's phone call. It seems more likely that FIFA was already reviewing it.
@bomiheko@Anth_Chatburn@DucksDaily93 12.5 isn't a low-ball tho. 15M was high until 3 days ago. And I doubt the 9 mil was a serious comment, even at the time he said it. If the offer sheet was 15M, everyone would be saying the exact same thing they are saying now. They will be fine if they match.
@Anth_Chatburn@DucksDaily93 The Ducks offered him 12.5 and he didn't sign. Leo saying he'd sign for $9mil is either untrue or he changed his mind. Sounds like Verbeek offered fair value to me honestly. I see this as more of Leo's camp knowing they would match and deciding they didn't want to negotiate.
@blockersidehigh@XavierRemyGSP They do have 6 non roster defensemen signed. Solberg could honestly make the team right now and he wouldn't just be a warm body stepping in. I doubt Hinds will cost much.
@MattPayner@DucksDaily93 They should match. This only creates a 1 year cap problem. Next summer the cap increases and they get $12 mil off the books with Kreider and Killorn contracts expiring. In 5 years, 18 mil won't look so bad.
