Today marks five years since 5-year-old Summer Wells disappeared from her home on Ben Hill Road in Hawkins County, Tennessee.

Five years of unanswered questions.

Five years without knowing where Summer is.

On June 15, 2021, Summer seemingly vanished, sparking one of the largest missing child investigations in Tennessee history. Thousands of tips have been reviewed. Countless hours have been spent searching, investigating, and following leads. Yet Summer remains missing.

Today, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the case is still active and ongoing. Investigators continue to evaluate credible information and pursue every avenue available in their search for the truth.

As time passes, it becomes easier for the world to move on.

But a missing child does not become less missing because years have gone by.

Summer’s story deserves to be remembered.

Her face deserves to be seen.

Her name deserves to be spoken.

And someone, somewhere, may still hold the piece of information that could finally bring answers.
