Very excited & proud to share our new paper, now published in @CellStemCell!🧠🌱👇
Excited about all the discussions we invite with our work & proud of our incredibly ‘resilient’ team (spearheaded by @georgietos) and an outstanding group of collaborators who made this possible💜
🧵 1/ Excited to share our new research on immature neurons (ImN) in the adult human brain and their roles in healthy aging, Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and cognitive resilience. Here’s what we discovered 👇
Amsterdam, #Pint24 is coming for you in a few weeks! 🧠 🪴⚕️Leading researchers will present research on neuroscience, plant systems and immunology! Come along to the #PintNL events at your local pub to learn more. Tickets available now 🎟️
The new issue is out! Just in time for #WorldAlzheimersMonth, Cell features four articles that together demonstrate the genomic, epigenomic, and transcriptomic dysregulations underpinning Alzheimer's disease at single-cell resolution across cell types.

Ever analyze a scRNAseq dataset and wonder if a specific cell state has been seen before? And if so, where in the human body? Under what conditions? Well, now you can use our lightning fast SCimilarity search and foundational model for that! ⚡️🔎🧬 https://t.co/t8L1xFOffd (1/11)
Happy to share our recent work now published in @iScience_CP. Great collaborative effort between Amsterdam 🇳🇱 (@LabSalta ) and Leuven 🇧🇪(@DeStrooperLab).

Incredibly proud to see our benchmark of single-cell preprocessing methods finally published 🥳🥳🎉
We show that despite its theoretical limitations, no other transformation consistently outperforms log(y/s+1).

Is our brain able to regenerate? And can we harness this regenerative potential during aging or in neurodegenerative conditions? A new study shows why there are conflicting results and proposes a roadmap on how to solve these issues.

We've been working on Seurat v5 for two years and are excited to share it with you soon!
In a webinar w/@10xGenomics and @ScienceMagazine on 3/29, I'll introduce new methods to analyze spatial/multimodal datasets that scale to tens of millions of cells: https://t.co/LQCFAM0nEL
I need to raise awareness about an important point in #scRNAseq data analysis, which, in my opinion, is not acknowledged enough:
‼️In practice, most cell type assignment methods will fail on totally novel cell types. Biological/expert curation is necessary!
Here's one example👇
