Watching the deteriorating situation in Syria with great concern. The Kurds are under threat from the new Syrian government that is aligned with Turkey.
It would be a disaster for America’s reputation and national security interests to abandon the Kurds, who were the chief ally in destroying the ISIS caliphate.
Therefore, I will be introducing legislation this week designed to impose crippling sanctions on any government or group engaged in hostilities against the Kurds. The Save the Kurds Act, I believe, will receive strong bipartisan support and must have teeth to make it effective.
Stay tuned.
The Damascus government’s announcement of a ceasefire has not translated into any real commitment on the ground.
What we are witnessing today is a massacre in #Kobani and ongoing attacks across different areas of the #Jazira region.
The gap between official rhetoric and the bloody reality continues to widen. Any political process that does not begin with the protection of civilians remains nothing more than a political illusion.
Silence in the face of these crimes is a moral failure, and the international community bears an ethical responsibility to act.
The Kurds are subject to being wiped out now by Erdogan and the Syrian al-Qaeda leader. Are we just going to leave them without help? They stood with us in fighting ISIS. They took heavy casualties. They are an ALLY.
Video and audio evidence has emerged documenting the massacre of a Kurdish family by forces reportedly loyal to Syrian interim President Sharaa on January 18 -the same day he announced a ceasefire agreement with the SDF.

Statement Regarding Violations of the Ceasefire Agreement in the Jazira and Kobani Regions – 26 January
Despite the ceasefire agreement entering into force last night, Damascus factions continue to commit serious and repeated violations against populated areas in the Jazira and Kobani regions, in a clear and explicit breach of the agreement’s provisions and a direct threat to civilian security and regional stability.
At 10:00 a.m., Damascus factions launched an armored attack on the axis of al-chalabiya town, southeast of Kobani, which was successfully repelled.
From 12:00 p.m. until the time of drafting this statement, attacks have continued on the western countryside axis of Kobani, targeting the villages of Zarik and al-Qasimiyah.
At 6:00 p.m., artillery shelling targeted the village of al-Qasimiyah, resulting in the martyrdom of a child and the injury of three others from the same family.
At 7:30 p.m., Damascus factions carried out an attack using three suicide drones on the village of “Qari,” affiliated with the city of Girkê Legê, causing material damage.
At 10:40 p.m., the same forces targeted the village of al-Safa in the countryside of chil Agha / al-Jawadiyah, resulting in material damage.
As of the time of drafting this statement, these attacks continue on the southern and western axes of Kobani, representing a clear continuation of ceasefire violations and a dangerous escalation that endangers the lives of civilians.
During these attacks, four of our fighters were wounded, in addition to the martyrdom of a child and the injury of three others from the same family.
We call on the guarantor parties to the ceasefire agreement to assume their full responsibilities in putting an end to these violations, to compel Damascus factions to fully adhere to the agreement, and to ensure the protection of civilians without any delay or negligence.

#Kobani under An extreme siege by The Syrian terrorist government led by al-Julani, subjecting hundreds of thousands of Kurdish civilians to massacres and starvation.
#KobaneUnderSiege
Al-Julani and Turkish backed ISIS scum mock Kurdish women and speaks of selling them as commodities, claiming that for three days each woman (“Hevala”) would be worth no more than the price of a radish.
Don't look away!
If someone shouting “Allahu Akbar” with a weapon takes lives in any country, it shakes the entire world, all media outlets....
Meanwhile, we Kurds face thousands of them today, and they want us to surrender to them.
They won’t stop; they will appear everywhere
#ISISisBack
Verified: Videos show groups affiliated with Damascus killing Kurdish girls some of them unarmed, calling them gifts for the fighters and slurs, and executing them while shouting extremist slogans “Allahu Akbar”. This is horrifying.
⚠️ Caution: Viewer discretion recommended.
Presented here is documented evidence of war crimes committed by the Syrian army within less than 17 days of its ongoing military campaign against the civilian population. This constitutes only a limited sample, as numerous additional violations are occurring without documentation or international monitoring.
Let me be clear: the Syrian government should not misread U.S. sanctions relief.
Any threat to prisons that hold ISIS prisoners, the security of our vital Kurdish allies, or the safety of ethnic minorities violates the repeal of Caesar sanctions.
Damascus must halt its advances immediately — or risk new crushing sanctions.

There is strong and growing bipartisan interest in the U.S. Senate regarding the deteriorating situation in Syria. There is strong consensus that we must protect the Kurds who were there for us in destroying the ISIS caliphate, as well as many other groups.
The powers of the Senate are real. Stay tuned.
🚨To the Western world and to every free person: The Kurdish people, who fought terrorism and defeated ISIS, the most brutal terrorist organization in the world, are now being subjected to ethnic cleansing at the hands of these terrorists led by al-Julani. We Kurds, who protected Europe and America from terrorism and captured thousands of terrorists, are now under a major attack by the terrorist AlJulani. We demand a political and humanitarian stance from the West.

🚨 THIS IS WHO THE WEST IS BACKING
A fighter aligned with Abu Mohammad al-Jolani said it plainly and proudly:
“We are going to slaughter those Jews.”
The issue isn’t that he said this. We know how jihadis speak.
The issue is that they have Western backing.
Stay connected, follow @MOSSADil.
Update: Damascus factions are currently shelling Al-Aqtan Prison north of Raqqa with heavy weapons, while simultaneously imposing a siege around the prison using tanks and deployed fighters.
We convened a productive and constructive meeting in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq with U.S. Ambassador Tom Barrack @USAMBTurkiye and Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Central Command @CENTCOM .
The support of the United States and President Trump’s @POTUS policy for the ceasefire are of utmost significance and greatly appreciated. Additionally, Ambassador Barrack’s commendable efforts to facilitate dialogue and negotiations between us and the Syrian government are serious, essential and highly valued.
We will diligently and with all our capabilities work to achieve genuine integration and maintain the current ceasefire.
@SyrianOsint @janetcalif half A billion dollars was spent training some soldiers with little to no benefit , and they failed,
while the Kurds were ready and went to fight ISIS in defense of the world free cost no training required.
10+ years ago, When the US spent half a billion dollars training a few soldiers to fight #ISIS
The Kurds emerged, fought, & eliminated them without expecting anything in return. And now this is what we have. #KobaneUnderAttack
We still remember , do you ?
