The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS) is designed to probe the formation and evolution of galaxies across cosmic time on a 2 square-degree field on sky.
We recently reported the discovery and an in-depth characterization of the most distant and absolutely gorgeous Einstein ring that we found in the COSMOS-Web survey @cosmosastro.
We call this the COSMOS-Web ring.
We find that it is composed of a lens at z=2 and a source at z~5
.@eriniASTRO presenting results from her recent @cosmosastro /COSMOS-Web paper on the highest redshift radio loud AGN at the First Year of JWST Science conference..
Latest paper on arxiv! We discovered a massive z~7.65 heavily obscured radio-loud QSO (furthest radio-loud as of yet!) thanks to COSMOS-Web and the rich ancillary data of the COSMOS field.
Here is a little thread on why this source is so important! https://t.co/1oKAgxaCXe
We’re happy to announce our first COSMOS-Web public data release, DR0.2, covering the first epoch of observations taken in January.

Welcome to Meet the #RWTeam, our new series introducing the people behind Redshift Wrangler! My name is Sadie Coffin (@scoffin_at_you), I am a 3rd year Astrophysics PhD student at RIT (@RITtigers@AstrophysicsRIT) in Rochester, NY.
🥁 They're here... the first test images from the #DarkUniverse 🕵️ detective give us a tantalising glimpse of what is yet to come from a fully calibrated mission later this autumn 🤩

.@Jeyhan presenting an overview of the COSMOS-Web survey, with some quick science highlights and showing off the mosaic now covering half the field! #firstlight2023
@astrocaits presenting early COSMOS-Web results and highlighting @hollisakins paper on red galaxies at high-z at the #firstlight2023 conference at MIT!
We had our @cosmosastro team meeting at @RITtigers week before last. Great to see everyone and catch up on the great work being done. Stay tuned for some amazing results from the latest COSMOS data!
