The “greedy physician” narrative is one of the biggest distractions in healthcare.
Physicians haven’t had meaningful pay increases in decades, while being pushed out of independent practice, overloaded with higher volume + acuity, and buried under administrative bloat.

Meanwhile:
•hospital systems post record profits,
•insurers deny everything while raising premiums,
•pharma inflates prices,
•executives collect million-dollar bonuses.

Blaming doctors is convenient—it keeps patients from seeing how the real drivers of healthcare costs are the hospital monopolies, insurers, and PBMs who game the system while hiding behind this myth.

After the ACA + ACO wave, Baylor bought the hospital, bought the PCPs, locked referrals, and independent specialists went out.

Whether it’s medicine or agriculture, independents are getting crushed so giants can consolidate power.
