Flying Southwest RSW ➡️ MDW. It’s an evening flight that is mostly full, but what is interesting to me is that 11 of the 12 premium priced exit row (extra leg room) seats are empty. Wondering how other flights compare now that the new SWA pricing has been rolled out.
@acidicsweetie@choffstein Arguably one person is required…although most funds have at least a few people managing the portfolio. It’s systematic trend following trading the same model on all markets. It does not require traders with different skills and specialties.

Outstanding senior day with some great send-offs by the juniors. The 4x400 closed the meet by running a school-record time of 4:00.33. Great work by Cate Crowley, Rose Cummings, Maliyah Miller and Annika Swan.
@DanWetzel Cignetti effect as well. IU broke the D1 coaching mold. Good to see these successful lower level guys get their opportunity. Also, the NIL pro model of GM and coach allows schools to take chances on a X’s and O’s guy without worrying as much about recruiting impact.
@sdav1986 💯Also the fund was always called AlphaQuest. Firm name charge was a branding exercise with bad timing. Nigol and team were some of the smartest guys in managed futures. Sorry to see them go, but wouldn’t surprise me if they come back in some capacity.
@Ksidiii Back in the day the forced watch seller was a CME local that’s was carried out of the pit and forced to sell his watch at the pawn shop in the loop.
"Capitalism created the possibility of the win win win. It used to be a zero sum game where somebody won, somebody else lost.
The biggest mistake people make, intellectuals in particular, they still think we're in a zero sum world. They're obsessed with some billionaires because Bernie Sanders thinks that Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk somehow stole the money from the people.
They don't understand that it's this prosperity machine that's creating more, not just for those billionaires, but for everything that they're touching. They're creating value for their customers, they're creating value for their employees. Their suppliers are flourishing, their investors are seeing their capital go up. It can be reinvested and compound.
All philanthropy ultimately comes from business. That's where the profits are.
Where does all the taxes come from? It ultimately comes from business as well.
This is the engine that's lifting humanity out. The entrepreneurs are the drivers of that engine. Somebody like Elon Musk, he gets a very, very, very tiny sliver of the value that he creates for the whole world."

Not to defend a competitor but to explain. Those 9.3% are net of fees (taxes, depends on Wellington vs Kensington) and (obviously) uncorrelated from market returns and most vanilla factors, which makes a 10% return valuable to allocator, as an alternative to other uncorrelated assets. And then there’s the lower volatility drag arising from higher Sharpe.
Corey is spot on here. It seems that not a lot of thought was given to the category name and that a simple name change benefits everyone, especially investors who want an easy way to diversify their portfolios.
