@missmeganrenne 😊I’m so glad you were part of the workshop! Thank YOU for all of your contributions to the morning. Can’t wait to hear all about how you use the resources with your students.
🤗Working drafts of a dream of common definition of mathematical fluency for @DunlapSchools thanks to the hard work of our teachers today. How do YOU define mathematical fluency? #323learns
@alyssacabhart Community is huge for me. I know that throughout Covid, being on quarantine was so hard because I did not have as many opportunities to connect with the communities I am a part of. So glad to be out and about again! #belonging323#323learns
@alyssacabhart Sometimes, school can be a place of escape for kids. It may not be that they want to talk all about their rocks at school. Rather, a positive, fun, and challenging classroom can give kids the space to just be without thinking about their rocks so much. #323learns#323belongs
@alyssacabhart#323learns#belonging323 A systemic challenge I notice within schools is that staff typically does not reflect the diversity of the population it serves. There’s a lot of research about the impact this has on children and wether or not they feel like they belong.
@alyssacabhart The fact that if the brain does not feel safe and loved, it cannot access the highest parts for critical thinking. Also, students are at school more hours than at home during their childhood. It’s truly about a healthy development of their identities, which depends on love.
@julielemasters Yes! 🙌 I think sometimes as educators we want to be able to help every student so badly. But you are right, in reality we are just a blip in the students’ lives and all we can do is add to their love and positivity “bucket” for that short time we get them. Rocks are complex!
@HannahDutton8 Check out these Illinois Outdoor Adventures https://t.co/bD8dFwWGEz. @WildlifePrairie made the list, it's one of my favorite places to unplug. Any others that you've visited from the list? #livewell323
Operation Replenish Kinder and First Fundations Materials COMPLETE🎯. So glad to have these materials in our teachers’ and students’ hands- explicit phonics instruction for early readers is 🔑! #323learns@mattandrews85@HannahDutton8
@McGuireCoach@HannahDutton8 This is so true. It's that idea of scaffolding student thinking even when they are presented with "complex text." If things are just too hard and we do not give proper supports, it's not helpful. Small group rereads, repeated read-alouds, and peer support can go a long way.
@gworkh@HannahDutton8 Me too! I definitely utilized MSV for years and years. Learning about the importance of going to V first, I can't stop thinking about how I would utilize time with students differently in small groups and 1-on-1 conferences.
@Wildcats5A@gworkh@HannahDutton8 One of my favorite things about W&W is how well they tie together topics for students. Check out the "Modules at a Glance" in the doc to get a sneak peek.https://t.co/1p4ACNTOZx
